So when they are all camping out in the forest and Moiraine proposes Thom mentions how she knows his issues with channeling women has held him back in the past.

He could just mean life in general but that's boring and doesn't really fit...

So instead I like to think it means Moiraine probably at some point gave him a subtle opening to make a move and he sidestepped. I kind of like the idea of Moiraine being the pursuer of sorts in the relationship, and it also helps me to believe there wasn't just a lot of stuff off screen going on but a lot of semi-deep stuff.

It's a shame Thom is so old because Moiraine would have made an excellent cougar.

He'll be dead in 45 years and then she can find a 20 year old, or move back with Siuan, or do both. I'm sticking to the idea that the bond will make Thom live longer and that he was already one of those people who lives super long. So, he would have lived to 105. Now he'll live to 120.

More offspring for securing the crown!

I love the idea of Cougar!Mo. That's it, Thom gets played by a younger guy in movie.

When do you think Moiraine could have made her move? What if they did start something but Thom backed away. It'd make the undercurrents more fascinating when they had the argument in the Stone of Tear.

It's hard to think of a time. He didn't want her to touch (heal) him on their first night after leaving the Two Rivers. Then in Baerlon he still didn't trust her, but he did stick up for her when Nynave and Moiraine were having their argument. Maybe later that night
