What do you think Moiraine and Thom were discussing when Mat decided to leave them alone for a while? My opinion on it has gone back and forth some during the rereads.

Sometimes I think they were just catching up with each other and asking how the other was, other times I'm not so sure.

Mat says how the affection in their eyes was true yadda yadda based on what they were saying, so that limits what they were talking about, at least.

Maybe she was talking about all those words from her heart she mentioned in her letter to him, while Thom goes on about how fine a woman she is.

maybe Moiraine started telling him later how the bond would feel.
