This is a bit early and I'll probably bump it closer to the release date... but I was just thinking about the last book. If there's a whole bunch of crap to sift through at the beginning I'm totally skipping 'til I see her name :P. After that I won't skip anymore though. I think she'll be a major part of Rand's plotline so I won't need to skip. And if she's not there will be heck to pay.

I usually do this sort of thing when it's a boring character (AKA Perrin) and if there's heaps of him or Rand being Jesus Rand, then yes, I'll flip until I see her name.

I do the same as anon, though I usually skim Rand parts so I'll know what's going on. I'll most likely skip to where Mo shows up, read that one part, and then go back to the start. :D

See I usually read the whole book, I prefer the Moiraine parts and I often wish I could skip Perrin and Rand parts, but I never actually do it.

Me. The Moiraine bits are the only clear parts in my mind from the last book anyway

I'm having trouble remembering too. Perrin's stuff was interesting but he should have done it a long time ago. Mat... had some funny bits but I just wanted him to get to the ToG. I didn't care about the gholam. Rand did nothing, Elayne wasn't in it. The tower stuff was goodish though.

The moiraine parts are clearest to me because I read them so much, the rest sort of blurs into the rest of the books.

I think I'll do what I did last time: take the day off, get some cake and wine, skip to the Moiraine parts, and then struggle to finish the rest of the book over the following days.
