Amusing little trailer for the book:

Oh god...I am laughing. And it isn't even five seconds in.

OK I managed to finish. I would have liked it more with a voice to match the woman. I know, I know, picky picky. But it was cool. http://moiraine.net/...tyle_emoticons/default/cool.gif

...I think the only thing worse than reading that letter is hearing it aloud.

My goodness, did Moiraine sound old to you? She didn't sound like a giggly girl with pervy thoughts at all.

I read it outloud once for Kate and Nik. It was very hard to do.

Maybe it wasn't supposed to sound like Moiraine, maybe some elderly lady just read it. Kinda like you do when reading a book but out loud and recorded.

:D

Despite its cheesiness and old ladyness I am a big enough Moiraine fangirl to be all :thommoi: over it.

That actress has beautiful eyes, but I'm still reeling from the fact that its a trailer.. A commercial... For a book.

It's.. What... I mean..

I've seen some of those here in the states, usually for mystery novels. Compared to those it is actually like...really amazing. :P

Which tells you how sad book commercials are.

Like game commercials. Now I've been much more of a gamer than I am today, though I am consistently unashamed of it. But come on, some of these things makes me think that maybe I should be a little ashamed.

There is no shame in being ashamed. :P

Well.. I suppose since shame is often a defense mechanism of someone who lacks confidence they'd derive a sense of security and satisfaction from the act of being ashamed itself.

I was kinda "huh?" when I first heard they were going to release a trailer too, Tosh. I mean, what's the point? It can't be advertising - we're freaking 13 books into this series and it has millions of readers around the world, so I'm pretty sure they're not trying to broaden the fanbase with this trailer.

:lmao: :P

Still, despite it's silliness, I kinda liked it. Aldieb was pretty (wow, now there's a reunion I want to see before the series ends!) and so was the outfit. Like others, I'm kinda ambivalent about Momo's appearance and voice, but I still think they did a good job, considering that with any literary character everyone will have different imaginings of how she appears in their head. And at least they got the dark eyes right! For a second there when we had that close-up of her face I was worried her eyes would open and be blue.

Yes, the model was great (and the horse, I guess) but the voice over of old lady just...ruins it for me. Not to mention that letter is just so silly. :P
