I agree with Ekho.

When Egwene is undergoing her test for Accepted the third one is her future as Amyrlin Seat. There is mention in this alternate future of something called the Great Purge, in reference to the Black Ajah.

We know that many of the things seen in the ter'angreal rings can come true (they are similar to the Wise Ones' rings in Rhuidean), such as Nynaeve's marriage to Lan, and Egwene's appointment to Amyrlin.

So perhaps once she has solidified her position, they will make every single sister re-take her Oaths and swear to not being a Darkfriend (similar to what that group of Aes Sedai in the Tower is already doing). Those that fail will be executed once they have been used to defeat the Dark One, and the White Tower - united behind their new Amyrlin as well having as the Sea Folk and Aiel channelers connected to the Tower - will be stronger than ever and ready to help in the Last Battle.

Capital punishment is so harsh.. can't they be given therapy instead? I'm sure lots of chatty sisters, would just love to talk about black sisters' personal issues and sexuality.

With some luck, therapy will be a cool thing and all exagerating teens will go all "I'm in therapy because I was a black sister and shit."

I think you have to be careful with thinking of the Accepted test like the Wise Ones. Nynaeve also saw Morgase as being Queen of Andor while she was married to Lan, and she was also not an Aes Sedai. Nynaeve's future portion of the test was simply what she wanted, not what would be. Egwene is a little different because clearly something went wrong with her test; it's possible her being a Dreamer affected it. We'd have to see say, Moiraine or Siuan's test to see an actual pattern; RJ seems to be making all the Wonder Girls' dreams come true so the desires they had during Accepted hood that were reflected in the test, are tainted. (that last sentence made more sense in my head)

What went wrong was that Egwene had that twisted ring in her clothing that enables sleepers to enter tel'aran'rhiod. The test ter'angreal was flickering and malfunctioning, and one of the Aes Sedai present said that that had only happened once before, when a ter'angreal that had a similar function and purpose to it was nearby. So the ring's proximity to, um, the rings was what caused the malfunction.

I understand your points about what is seen in the testing not being true, but maybe the fact that it malfunctioned means the events are MORE likely to be true.

Because, the twisted ring's presence caused the problems, and the twisted ring's purpose is to enter the World of Dreams - where everything is a reflection of reality, and only the will of a human being can alter it!

We know the testing ter'angreal does not simply project a holograph or imaginary vision of circumstances - because wounds received there are real (Nynaeve's thorned palm for example), as are wounds received in tel'aran'rhiod. AND we know that tel'aran'rhiod is an alternate and paralell reality, as are many unknown worlds in the universe of Randland (as explained by Verin when she first gives Egwene the ring in TGH).

Therefore, since the ring from the World of Dreams has a similar enough purpose to the testing ter'angreal that they cannot function in the same room, we can conclude that what is seen in the rings is an alternate future/possible future very much like the testing rings and also the Wise Ones' rings (if you recall, both Moiraine and Aviendha tell us that what is seen in the Rhuidean rings has many forms and permutations, all of them made possible or impossible through the woman's actions in the past and future, and all women that survive return with knowledge of a few points of importance in her life to come, like the facts in Moiraine's letter about her rescue, and Aviendha's certainly that she and Elayne must not go and help Rand while he was cleansing saidin).

...Just what every accepted dreams about, an aged gleeman:P

*giggle* :P

No, I doubt she saw the DR either. She may have seen something to do with what happened to her later - being trapped in Finn-land or something, or sacrificing herself for a high cause, etc. *curious too*
