I also wish there were expanded pillowfriend scenes. :P Not a lot, but just as much as maybe some of the male/female stuff has been written.

I could not agree with you more!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Still, homosexuality is a minority, and it just isn't RJ's style to focus on the same gender relations the way a gay or lesbian writer would. He has found true love in his wife, and he wants to reflect that in most of his characters, I assume.

I said that about running away because I have issues with the religious leaders of that denomination' date=' and not with God whatsoever.

I have always believed in a higher power, but you might say that it has always been in spite of the Catholic teachings. I would never do something so silly as to stop believing in a higher power because I don't believe the people who teach the religion they made up about it. I just had to clear that up, because what was explained wasn't accurate to me.

Ok. As you say, I too believe in the higher power that we call god.

A lot of it was stupid and archaic, and I disagreed with a lot of the things they taught and said. But most of all, I just never was moved by it, and I never believed. And faith is the most important part of every religion; if you don't have faith, you aren't a part of that religion.

Yep, faith is the most important thing. I totally agree with you. Sometimes I've had this doubt too.

In my case, I do sometimes feel that some of it is archaic and does not apply to the current social set-up. Also I cannot say I have ever been moved by it.

But I have always believed in the set of rules and regulations that is prescribed. Most of the things I was taught are not about any beliefs but are about discipline. They teach a person how to lead life in a systematic way. That impressed me a lot and that's what keeps me bound to my religion and religious customs more than anything else.

Pfft, Lesbianism maybe... there are lots of Lesbians and talk about woman woman sex. But nothing about gay boys. It is so typically silly boys of only doing the lesbian part and skipping the gay part.

So it isn't fair to say "homosexuality" since that word includes boy boy love. :-p Unless there really is something about Lan and and sword fighting with other boys... *pounders*

I suppose I should have added this to my "not inlove with WoT" post....

Yes, I did notice how all the homosexuality seems purely female! The only instance of a male/male relationship I came across was in KoD, but it was the merest hint and I am not sure what RJ was getting at.

Anyway, as Vertex points out in his rather entertaining manner :P , it's one of the things that puts me off WoT - not because of the lesbianism, but because I think RJ is just catering to the male penchant for it! Just like there was this phase that involved a lot of shift-taking-off and bare-chested women!

Yea you are both right, it is overwhelmingly female. There are only backhanded one-sentence references, such as "maybe he did not like women in that way"(when Faile is captured) or "even the men who had no liking for women were dismissed" (in NS). A lot of WoT caters to males, as do many books.

I didn't notice that part. Where in the book is it?

I confess Mat is one of my all time fav. characters.

I confess I think Perrin is a moron....

I confess sometimes I hate Rand, other times I like him. It's weird.

I confess I like the Aiel.

Oh and I like Lews Therins little humming thing :b

I confess Lew Therin cracks me up...I remember when he first started talking in Rand's head...I'd always laugh.

I confess I can not stand Elayne.

I confess I actually didn't like Moiraine until book 5. Then I loved her. (It changed my view of her...I had her all wrong, she rocks).

:o But... but... that's what we do here... *judges and condemns*

;PWe're not totally sane, you see... this loooong wait for Moiraine has turned us all slightly rabid...

EDIT: I have an off-topic confession: I'm insanely curious about Tosh! :P

I confess I am too(About Tosh)!

I confess I started loosing my sanity when I began reading...I lost it all once Moiraine was gone and a long absence of Lan pursued. I just couldn't take it :(

I confess the whole Rand/Perrin/Mat not being able (to stand) killing a woman, drove me nuts.

I confess I miss Asmodean.

Me too x3.

I confess that Romanda's character has grown on me considerably.

I confess I am looking forward to starting tDR.

...and that I've been stalking Sanderson's blog to check his progress on the last book. It is at 102%

Hehe How FUN! Okay.......

I confess I miss Asmodean

I confess I was so shaken by the Seanchan collaring Egwene in TGH that I read the next 200 pages to the end THAT NIGHT!

I confess I detest Galina and I didn't like it that RJ made me feel for her.

I confess I don't think the Moiraine/Thom angle has been very well established.

I confess I missed the Trollocs after book 9.

I confess I didn't care for the ambiguity surrounding Sammaels death.

I confess I think Lanfear and Moiraine should have lasted a book or two longer. The story isn't the same without them. (PLUS TFOH was full of BIG Climaxes as it was). It STILL should have happened as it did but the characters had more room yet to grow. Oh well.

I confess I enjoy the Aiel.

I confess I came to enjoy the Seanchan.

I confess I Despise the Seafolk.

COT could've been 400 pages tighter. I confess I would've been FINE with that.

I confess I prefer the baddies more than the goodies, simply because they are more entertaining (with the exception of Moiraine)

I confess that I want everyone of the Aiel to perish

I confess that I have always hated the Lan/Nynaeve pairing
