Both of them did it to subdue someone, Logain did so to keep himself from being gentled again (along with other men) and Alli here did to mostly because it seems Verin conned her into to so they might control Rand.

I'm wondering if Andor/Cairhien will merge since Elayne is kinda heading towards being queen of both. Which wouldn't really make sense though since they've fought more than any other two nations except Tear and Illian. Plus the Cairhienin are just so much cooler! ;D
