Sheriam is BA.. hmm now I wonder if she was already a darkfriend when she, Moiraine, and Siuan were novices? Curious to find out why exactly Moiraine didn't want Siuan to trust her besides being the paranoid Carhienin that she is. It's also interesting that she is another Black Blue Ajah Mistress of Novices. That's a weird parallel.

Hm...there does seem to be a bit of a trend with BA Mistress of the Novices. Perhaps thats considered a key role, as they can influence the Novices/Accepted and scope out the ones leaning towards the Black.

Just got my book tonight. This line made me blink. Page 34:

I thought they didn't have prostitution in WoT. Or since it's from Graendal's PoV, does that mean they had prostitution in the AoL? Why? I thought AoL was a perfect utopia; if they don't have courtesans in modern WoT Earth why would they have it in AoL Earth? Did Sanderson screw up?

There was a scene where Gawyn thinks of the women willing to take soilders coin, implying they are women of pleasure. I think he did indeed screw up. :\

I have a hard time believing that there isn't independent prostitution going on, in another name, if not true bordellos. Wives "thanking" their husbands for a new gift would count as prostitution too under some circumstances. That the idea hadn't struck any of their minds seems like rubbish. There is a lot of rape going on in any case, so Randland (don't shoot me for using that word) is not all clean.

 

I agree that he screwed up with the courtesans though

 

Aargh! I'll try to get the book as soon as I can Now I've read so many Siuan/Gareth spoilers I've almost ruined the excitement, but I'm still curious HOW the scenes will play out.
