All I have to say today, is thank you Marie for my lovely signature!

and I just have nothing to say...
Neither do I, except that we DO have toilets in Sweden.

I want to make many posts here so that I become more that "Eyes and Ears" but all I can think about now is my homework about Buddha and my swedish paper due on friday and which I haven't started with yet.
Interesting, right?

I think what you write is very interesting, but I must defend Moiraine!
To start with, Moiraine was born in a noble family, and has a lot of money. And she's not afraid to use them. To get what she wants, sure, but she also gives other people what they want. Money is always a good way to make things happen. To give the boys money was perhaps not the best way to get close to them, but it worked. She, as all the Aes Sedai, is a woman who knows how to makes things happen and how to get what she wants. And I think that's part of what's so fascinating about the Aes Sedai. They play in their own league and it's "their job" to manipulate people. They're there to bring some order in the world, and to do this they have their own methods.
I believe that The Children of Light are as far away from the Aes Sedai as you can get, a contrary, and they too have thier own methods.
I haven't got the feeling that Moiraine thinks that she's "better" than some people. She can't help that she was born into a noble family and that she was raised a certain way. In reality people are born into different familys and are sometimes raised to believe they're better than others. There's not much to do about it, I'm afraid.
I believe that Moiraine has done great things but never been fully appreciated for them. And that fact the she gives a close person such as Lan money (when was that?) could be a sign that she wants to keep a distance. No close relations and no one will get hurt. She's a very cold woman.

There are so many great quotes, but I really like the story of Manetheren that Moiraine tells in the first book.
And I like this one:
Tonight you will eat fish. Tomorrow, you may die.- Moiraine to Faile

I didn't know there was a new series.I've read a bit on his new series. I'm not sure whether I'm intrigued or not. I can't imagine it having the same pull as the first few of WoT.
What's it called? And is it any good?Ooh, I can't wait for the new book, but if it comes out October I probably won't see it here in Sweden until next year or so.

Right now I'm reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
