I liked Goblet, I want one of those staff like Krum and his buddies have I thought it was a well paced movie, and really showed more depth in the characters, much like the books. I'm not sure what they're going to do with Voldermolt, but I'd hate to see him look that way the rest of the series.

Then its off to Indiana for Christmas time. I've been immersed in Grad School preparations (my application is just about ready) and tons of work. But I'd thought I'd pop back on since I've been reading a little more and getting back into a WoT groove

Watched Million Dollar Baby the other night - Good movie, didn't expect the ending as it was.

 

Saw Constantine today. Seriously Keanu, you aren't the Messiah so quit trying to play one on screen constantly. However I was happy to see Rachel Weiz. And the movie overall wasn't bad. A tad bit contrite, but not bad.

Congrats!! Your first time living on your own is one of the best times in life. It can also be one of the most trying at times. Now that I've been out on my own for awhile, it's just old hat to me. 8)

Finished Harry, back to the Fires of Heaven. For some reason I just can't get through this one as fast as the others. It really seems to have slowed a bit in dealing with Nynaeve and Elayne with the menagerie. We need more Mat.. :wink:

well plotwise yeah,ganda;f dies in the fotr right?...iand as far as the who the hbp is it was rather easy for me to find out after i saw the adult cover

 

I think it's difficult to say that Gandalf dies. While it appears that he is dead, we find out later that he actually fights and destroys the Balrog. After that his body is taken and he is "reborn" in a sort as Gandalf the White, rather than Gandalf the Grey. But as far as I can tell in both reading and through the movies, Gandalf never truly dies. This could be because he possesses on of the three elvish rings of power, but again, that's all up to interpretation.

I thought it was common knowledge that someone died in this book? Shouldn't be that hard to believe since Harry's already lost several people in his life, including someone in OotP

[Summer Fun]

Summer plans? Well I'm going to try and put together a new demo tape to send out for new broadcasting opportunities, spend time around the pool, work out, read all the WoT books, HBP, Angels and Demons, and study for the GRE. Should be great times! Oh yeah, I'm going to Vegas in August. That's about it. Not too exciting, I know

I'm hoping that I can add a little something around here. I'll try to answer everyone. Glad to see I'm not the oldest, or the youngest for that matter.

 

At this point, I think part of the hook the series has in me is to see where some of these characters end up. I'm actually suprised they've all made it this far. (I'm actually about 100 pages into book 5 now)

 

My favorite character at this point is probably Mat.. I don't know, maybe it's the name, maybe it's his mischevious and cavalier ways, but there's something about him that makes me say.. "I know exactly where he's coming from."

Well maybe not every sense, but I'm still making may way through WOT. I'm on book 4 right now, my first time through them all. My roommate freshman year of college always tried to get me to read the books, but for some reason I couldn't get through the first 50 pages of EoW. Well it's amazing what you can do when you work overnights. Now I'm addicted!

n00b reading The Shadow Rising for first time.. Had Eye of the World since my Freshman year in college back in '97, never read it until May, and now I'm so freakin hooked it's like literary crack!
