I'm assuming Thom was describing Riselle's bosom to Moiraine and Moiraine immediately suggested that they have a threesome.
Do I need 200 posts to get a different title? I feel weird being a Gaidin. I know there's one girl warder but it's still weird.

I agree, which is why I liked her. I think before Rand came into her life she was cool 99% of the time. He pushed it all the way down to 75 =oP.
I think we're talking about different kinds of cool, but I don't care.

I don't think he changed his plans for the Seanchan. I just think in general people hate them so much they just want them to go away. But it does seem like it's been left for way too long and now if it actually is resolved there isn't much time for it. I've never thought the Seanchan would fall apart from the revelation. I just guessed that somehow they would decide to quit collaring channelers once they made the discovery. I knew it would be more complicated than just throwing them away, but that's what I thought would happen eventually. Especially after we had book four and discovered that there are Seanchan who aren't jerkfaces and they do have some redeeming characteristics on the whole.

I agree that it sounds lame... but... lots of things sound lame but when actually written out they are perfectly fine.

) in Harry Potter. Every time someone brought up the theory before book 7 I thought it sounded terrible and hoped to God it wouldn't be true." And it turned out they were right, and I loved it. -
I don't see why nobody has suggested Loial. He'd be the best cuddler. They could all just lay on top of him afterwards, he's so furry.

How old was she when her mom died? For some reason I'm thinking younger than ten. Her dad died while she was a novice, correct? I envision her parents as being perfect parents and that's why she turned out so awesome.

I love the idea of Cougar!Mo. That's it, Thom gets played by a younger guy in movie.
When do you think Moiraine could have made her move? What if they did start something but Thom backed away. It'd make the undercurrents more fascinating when they had the argument in the Stone of Tear.
It's hard to think of a time. He didn't want her to touch (heal) him on their first night after leaving the Two Rivers. Then in Baerlon he still didn't trust her, but he did stick up for her when Nynave and Moiraine were having their argument. Maybe later that night

I cannot believe that the lot of you do not think that Moiraine speaks in a normal fashion. Have you not heard others speaking like this? There must be tens of them in the world, at least!

lol. A couple days ago I tried to talk without contractions and it failed miserably. It sounded like I thought I was holier than thou. <3 Moiraine. And you know that's not why she does it. She thinks she's talking like normal people. She's so flowery sometimes too, when she's talking about the stupid Wheel weaving and the Pattern's purpose. She should've been a preacher

well, the New Spring comic is out now. At the back are e-mails from Robert Jordan to Les Dabel. I'll link at bottom but here is the quote.
Moiraine speaks without any contractions, but Siuan is much more casual in her speech. -
It's a shame Thom is so old because Moiraine would have made an excellent cougar.
He'll be dead in 45 years and then she can find a 20 year old, or move back with Siuan, or do both. I'm sticking to the idea that the bond will make Thom live longer and that he was already one of those people who lives super long. So, he would have lived to 105. Now he'll live to 120.

It is interesting question since I do not believe he will be of much use in battle.

I think (completely out of the blue and with no evidence at all) that Innloine's whole "kindly" "awesome mother" thing is a facade, and she's tricked even Moiraine, and...
okay, I don't know the rest. I just know that she knows exactly which people are Moiraine's eyes and ears and smiles inwardly whenever they check up on her.

People don't learn things in WoT. They repeat mistakes over and over again until they're made da'covale, da'stang, damane, etc.

Moiraine's older than Min, but there's no way I'd call her relationship with her motherly. Min seems like she thinks of her like a kinda scary friend.
I guess what I'm zoning in on with Min and "motherly" is Moiraine patting her on the head repeatedly

In no way do I think it's a bad thing that she doesn't have many friends though. Nor do I think she's bad at making them. It's because she's so freaking dedicated to saving the world that she can't be bothered until her job is done
Oh, and she's perfectly lovely to strangers unless they annoy her. One of the best AS in that regard.

You're right. So, in my humble opinion, Moiraine has three female friends. Siuan, Myrelle, and Anaiya.
I would call Min a "friendly acquaintance," and Moiraine was more motherly toward her.
The Wise Ones were more of a "mutual respectful" relationship. In that scene in the sweat tent I didn't think they seemed "friend-ish." They couldn't be friends, because they had different goals and that made them distrustful of each other.
I agree with you (Romanda) that she could be friendly but she had too much important crap to do to actually have friends. That'll change after the LB though. I've decided that Moiraine, Thom, Darlin, Caraline, Min, and Rand can go hunting together =oP

Moiraine has no "lady friends." Except Siuan. She sees her once every 3 years.

They sat there and stuff. Moiraine was adorable in Thom's cloak except when it almost falls off later. Her cheeks are all pink-like and she looks at Matticus appraisingly, and she's quite fetching except for the saidared plastic surgery on her face-parts.

I just checked TGH and CoS, but not thoroughly.
Neither Barthanes or Colavaere use contractions. RJ-Talmanes uses them, but Selande doesn't use them. Maybe Selande doesn't use them because she wants to act more important than she is so she emulates the higher Cairhienin nobles.
The Tairen lords use them.
