I particularly enjoy the expression. There's a well of emotion simmering in there. That's not easy to convey. Though I think a stronger chin might serve to make him look older.
Just a thought!
"Strum of the Harp and Sudden Disappearance!"

That's the hardest part of being a writer. Once it's out of your hands, the translation can warp the meaning or the feeling. Who directed?
-
Oh no. This is heart breaking. The light illuminate you Robert Jordan. May your Ta'veren threads find their way to a much deserved rest. For all, and from all who's lives he touched by simply imagining people and a world who are so very real in our hearts. Our love and gratitude in this age and ages to come. The Wheel Weaves as the Wheel Wills.

NICE, three cords off the Harp for that one! Passion

Thank you
It was for a 10 minute piece that was performed in the Grand Opera House in Belfast last Monday night. It went down really well
I imagine it did
. Congratulations and hats off!

That is very well written. The characters are well conceived and speak in very distinct personal voices. It's all very honest, with a marvelously dry wit and humor. I'm usually one to dispense construtive critique first, but this really isn't begging any. Is this apart of a larger play you're working on? I'd love to see where the dynamic evolves to. Well done, well done.

Yes,
You win this round
BUT there shall be others involving interuniversal time travel and blue booth time machines! hehe, till then. Or before.... as the cause may be. Anywho
-
Brynefan,
He was Hamish in Braveheart. Menelaus in Troy. But each to his own. That's the fun of books, I say! Strum of the Harp!
-
Ah, yes.
I recognized him from the other appearing picture at the bottom of your responses. Though I did not know that was a time machine. Well, that paints a new light over the whole canvas!
-
Well simply put,
Drama is a life blood for us all. Much as we strive against our own. So until the Wheel cracks and the sky falls, I imagine I shall enter and exit with all the gusto I can call upon. (With a Strum of the Harp......... and a rather Sudden Disappearance!)
Voice on the windy mists, "Till next of times;)"
PS (voice carried back suddenly and startingly) What is that Blue Box anyway, Jan? Like a booth with an acceptionately large telephone? OR a maaagggiiicccc booth perhaps? I suppose It might be cool to own it.... though I can't imagine where I'd put it...... I'd probably wind up painting it as well... I. Hmmmmm, you can have it
(And the voice fades)

You're sweet. Thank you (Florish of the cloak, followed by a lordly bow) I must come up with a gleeman's tale a recompense
-
I see.
well done then.

Thanks Ekho,
I sorry about that. Can I delete some if it won't let me edit anymore? I formly apologize to all for double posting. It won't happen again.

Hello Laura1(Florish of the Cloak)
I like your picture.
-
I seem to be talking alot.
I thought I should mention. Rachael Weisz is a pretty good choice for Moiraine..... but it's Not the Moiraine in my head. As an actress she could pull it off. But digging deeper might be a good call.
-
moiraine=Kate Beckinsale
Egwene=Emmy Rossum
I'v thought about this far too much
To Ekho-
Oh, Emmy Rossum would be a really good Egwene!
I could see Kate Beckinsale as Nynaeve maybe.
-
Gareth Bryne - Clive Owen. Oh, I'm too obsessed for my own good. Comments?
To Brynefan-
I could see that. Though Brendan Gleeson comes to mind as well.

Ah,
This opened an interesting discussion, did it not? You'll all forgive me but I must throw my two cents in. I really enjoy the list you put together (enticingly so because these kind of thoughts do keep me up at night) Let me interject a teeny bit of my background. I'm a filmmaker (at the beginning of my career mind) I graduated from school a year ago. I've been pursuing this since age 6.
So these kind of subjects are particulary fun to me
I actually enjoy much of the casting from your old list Moiraine.
I love the choices for-
Lan and Thom- both hadn't occurred to me and I loved them. Michael Wincott in particular would be playing against type, which would be very cool given his body of work as villians.
Lanfear couldn't be more perfect in Catherine Zeta Jones and Orlando as Matt, yeah that's GOOD casting. And OF COURSE Brad Pitt is Galad. He's all but described so in the book.
Here's my thoughts on the ones I'd see change (Just thoughts, mind. Something to think about.)
Angelica Huston as Elaida is fine, but I think it's kinda predictable. I always saw a cold Michelle Pfeiffer myself. Can be pretty and steel cruel as well.
Egwene..... Winona Ryder....... yeah, I could see it. Age wish I saw Rose Byrne (from Troy?) more in that role.
Nynaeve, ah Nynaeve...... I always think Rachel McAdams when I see her. Both harsh and soft. Jennifer Garnier.... she just looks too 12 year old for my taste. (Not to offend any of her fans) This is just one Forsaken's opinion
Perrin, I like Karl Urban..... but he's kind of old I think. That and Perrin has a softness (a soulfulness even) that I haven't seen in Urban. Plus one must consider the Lord of the Rings factor. He WAS Eomer. And that might cloud him as Perrin. It's like casting Viggo as Lan, a good thought, but it'd be hard NOT to see Aragorn instead of Lan. Who knows, maybe Urban would surprise me, since I can't think of a good replacement. (DISCLAIMER: Perin's another of my favorites so I'm picky about him)
Rand........Jared Leto? That's the only one that really throws me. I love his work, but Rand has to have a gravitas. A presence that will eventually overwhelm everyone else. Jared Leto is a strong actor, but as the Dragon Reborn? ....... I don't see it. This is the character (like Perrin) that I have an even harder time putting a face on. James Franco has come to mind on occasion.... but I don't even know if I really like that. What do you all think? Any other suggestions?
I love this stuff. Strum of the harp and a sudden disappearance!
PS- Rachael Weisz is actually a really good idea for Moiraine! I also give kuddos to whomever decided on Uma Thurman and Guy Pierce! Though why haven't we come up with an Elayne?
-
Ahhhh,
So very nice to make all of your disembodied aquintences.....Much like entering an Aes Sedai camp. Or something to that effect. While Asmodean is my "chosen" avatar, Moiraine Sedai is my favorite character. So any and all things her I am eager to discuss. You are all most kind for welcoming me in such grace. I also appreciate that few here bite....... though I suppose the context does decide the positive or negative to it's meaning.
Anywho, UNTIL next time! (VOICE CARRIED ON WEAVES OF AIR AND FIRE) with a pleasant strum of the harp and a sudden disappearance!
-
To Jan- Your powers of deduction are impressive. It's nice to meet you Jan, as that is not your real name. But truly what fun are names?
To Vertex- Why thank you most kindly for the welcome.... and the warning. Perhaps I should've chosen a female Forsaken as my ailas. Oh well, I enjoy the uncertain.
Strum of the harp and sudden disappearance!

Hello Everyone, (Florishing a Cloak.... if I were wearing one)
I'm new in this world. Or at least 3,000 years removed. I thought I'd follow the welcoming suggestion of making my first post an introductionary (not a word, but I don't find myself caring) greeting. I was taken with the relative depth of this site.
That and it's context regarding WOT and Moiraine Aes Sedai. The art is well conceived. I haven't been able to open the soundtracks yet.... either there's a problem with my server settings or Saidin doesn't work at this site:roll: . I also was intrigued by the sites movie casting of various characters (some of which I agree with, and some I don't). Anywho, again it's nice to meet you all (as I am yet meeting only empty cyberspace) but I imagine that may change.
Strum of the harp and Sudden disappearance.
