Your left side does sound cursed!
I have an "L" shaped scar on the pad of my index finger that was gotten when my hand slipped while I was trying to cut something. I've also been stapled, from stupidly agreeing to try unjamming one of those big copiers with the automatic staple gun things inside. It startled me more than hurt really.
There have been other things, but basically if there is a way to burn, bash, break, smash, or make oneself physically collapse (without ever being seriously hurt in the long run!) I've probably been clumsy enough to do it.

John - Perhaps you feel most attuned right before or after deep sleep because you are in something of a meditative state? When we clear the clutter of the day (or night of dreaming) the quiet can help us ... well, self realize. It's an awful new age thing to say, but I just mean it in practical terms. It's our brains/selves settling down.
I think there is always more for us to learn, so I am not sure I could say what I believe one way or another.

Why do so many Swedes love Moiraine? Is it because of the repression or is it because Swedes are the only ones open enough to not let her prudishness bother them enough to stop flirting until actual pain is inflicted, there is love, or both?

A real WoT dream this time. I'm having quite a cold, and probably fever, so that means nasty dreams.
Thom and Moiraine were in it, strangely enough. The only thing I remember clearly is Thom's messenger avatar: a cartoon version of himself. After that it all took place on a road nearby that usually pops up in my nightmares. From there, the actual plot eludes me.
Thom would have a cartoon avatar of his own self.
