They certainly don't act better... I mean their entire institution is so feeble a little unexperienced country girl can make a good claim at it if she's just stuborn enough. And it is not like they have any excuses, they've been there for 3000 years and should have had plenty of time to build something.

I always thought of the "game of houses" as something of a fairy tail name for politics. Just like places you stay to sleep and eat has to be called a tavern or inn and not a hotel. But anyways,... there is politics and so I don't think the step to democracy is very far.
I do realise Moiraine might be expected to act snobishly and might even have been raised to act that way. However, she is an adult and has to take responcebility for her own life... when she goes to heaven the excuse "my parents didn't teach me to not be snobish" won't work.
Being able to channel sets people apart but believing that makes them better humans is racism.

Well, I wouldn't call Moiraines behavior towards Lan in NewSpring mature... A bug attack, for example, seems very pittyfull and childish. Marie sugested earlier that it is more likely that Moiraine is vindictive and cruel rather then she is affected by some underlying tension which makes her act as if she needs to prove something to Lan.
Oh you...! All she has to do is ask and anyone (except Elayne I hope) would sleep with her.Now there Marie darling, I know you feel very strongly about this. However, if Moiraine truly was a charming woman then why does she have to rely so heavily on money to make people do things for her?

Hasn't aged maybe but she's completely without age... it says over and over again that she's all age-less. So I don't think she's all full of hormones,... I mean, if she was, just imagine how many bug bites Rand would have.
And we don't know if there is anything between Moiraine and Thom at all... for all we know she chould just have been nice in her letter to him so that Thom would not just burn the letter and laugh for nailing an Aes Sedai...

I'm not saying there is now that Lan is impotent but when he was young and dashing and Moiraine was so full of estrogen she leaked it all over everyone near her, they had some sexual tension between them.

At the moment no,.. but they are on the verge of industrialisation and that was the time democracies broke through in our age. Anyways, just because there are non doesn't make dictatorships any nicer...

I don't think it matters what age you live in,... snobbish behaviour is timeless! Or it has nothing todo with time anyways
I'm sorry if I was wrong about Moiraine paying Lan in NewSpring... but that was mostly an example that some people will be offended if you pay them. If a boy loves a girl and pays her that is very offensive so just because Moiraine pays boys for maybe not love that can still be very offensive to some people.
And what I meant about the Aes Sedai is that they rule in their world and they are not ruling a democracy because if it was, they'd have to work like everyone else. They have something of an empire going and they rule with force and sneakery.

Moiraine's first apperance, is when she gives a great deal of money to the three boys. It was to keep track of them and for their own good but to the boys,.. well, except Mat anyways,.. it must have made them feel in-dept to Moiraine. I believe honest people will want to pay back what they are given. So in away, it appeared to me as if Moiraine bought her way close to them. At several other occasions she also pays much more then needed for various things in order to buy goodwill. I think she is doing it to be nice but giving away money is a very poor way to be nice in... and it is an even poorer way to make friends. To some,.. such as Lan, it is even directly insulting.
Moiraine was probably raised to be a queen or some noble woman, at least. And it appears as if she believes that she knows better then common people. Sure she likes and cares for people but not as an equal but as a parent. However, she has done nothing very special except managing being borned in a noble family and with the gift. Non of which should make her any smarter or know better then anyone else. She doesn't appear to have any right to judge other people or manipulate them into doing anything but she does... just like most of the Aes Sedai.
The White tower pay alot of money in wages, money that has to be gained from taxes somehow because the Aes Sedai doesn't appear to work or earn money. And I compltely understand why some people question why the Aes Sedai deserve their luxury... it isn't at all odd that extremists like the Children of the Light questions the Aes Sedai's right to dominate the rest of the people. The Children of the light aren't doing it nicely though, but simply arguing with the Aes Sedai seems very pointless to me.
So in short, Moiraine and the Aes Sedai aren't very nice. I believe the Aes Sedai involuntarily created the Children of the light because of their arrogance and belief that they know better then common people.

Today when I woke up, I looked out through my window and found the world covered in white snow. The first snow of the winter. I got dressed in a hurry and ran out to play.
Well, that is not true but something very simular happened when I got online and I looked out at Moiraine's world. The forum is all covered and soaked with vBulletin... may it never melt!
I'd also like to add that this post was much more fun before Marie made me behave! *Grumbles like a great big bumblebee*

A simple as generic smut story featuring two people will do wonderfully,... if you feel up to it Laura? The length of it just needs to be a few paragraphs.
Also can't we lower the age restriction on the naughti forum? I mean,.. 18 is for Germal Anal sex and evilness. 16 seems to be much more appropriate since it is just text... or maybe 15 even!

*nods* An example story line would be a good start... Then maybe we can try the story line out with as different characters as possible to see how dynamic the story has to be.

I love lots of stuff, pretty things, shiny thing and clever things. That includes programming and writing adult fanfiction. And some time ago I had an idea of merging the programming with fanfiction.
Imagine a game where you take the role of an adult movie producer. You pick story, actors and director and they make an adult movie for you. In this case it would not be a movie they produce but a fanfiction.
In other words, if you want to read about Moiraine and yourself or anyone getting it on, you'd pick Moiraine and that other person and a story about two people getting it on.
Doesn't it sound great?! Imagine the fun or pairing say,.. Marie-duckie and Jan up! *giggle fits and hopes this post won't get edited*
To get this thing to work, there are some technical issues to be dealt with. Most of them has to do with how the actors and story integrate with each other. Which is mostly a matter of how fanfiction characters and stories are written. This is why I'm posting here.. I need help by you people to decide what an adult fanfiction character is like and what adult fanfiction stories are like.
If you just have a story like this...
[actor1] kisses [actor2] on her lips.
would make
Marie kisses Jan on her lips.
And replace
