I have never read the NS novel cos I've only had the soft copy or the audio book. But I have read the original short story.
I am planning to start WOT all over again once I finish the Thomas Covenant - Unbeliever series.

Pretty much the case with me as well, but I must say I have not been particularly productive for a while though
Its technically holidays now .... but I am looking for a summer internship and am doing a project with a Prof here.

"The Power that preserves", Book three - The chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever - Stephen Donaldson.
I liked the second book. It had a lot more action and the story progressed nicely leading to the third. Reading this series has been a totally different experience for me compared to the fantasy fiction I have read before.

I agree with Asmo. He should have trusted Moiraine a little more. Also he should have put an end to the Alanna nonsense much earlier. I have a (bad) feeling its gonna cost him big-time.
