2. the doorway's destruction severed the connection between worlds and therefor the bond

It's always been my opinion that the destruction of the doorway caused it. People argue "but her bond didn't break when she went through the doorway in Tear," but that doorway wasn't destroyed. If you read that part in Fires of Heaven, the bond remains until the doorway is completely melted.

I always thought that the bond was severed because Moiraine was trapped in an alternate dimension. But in that scene she doesn't know if Lan is alive or dead before she goes through the doorway, which suggests she broke the bond herself.

Moiraine breaking it herself was always a pet theory of mine. But I am torn now between that and doorway destruction causing it.

yeah the wished it gone theory seems really far fetched but some people seem determined for that to be the answer.

I personally favor the destruction of the doorway as the cause and always have. Am very happy to see the end of the stilled and burnt out theories.
