I always had the impression that she was the younger child by about 6 years. In New Spring, she says that Innloine, the younger (I'm assuming), played with her children. I'm not aware of the age of marriage in Cairhien, but I'm assuming it's approx. 18. Add about 4 years to that to allow for birth of two children and one reaching the age of "play" and you have 22 for Innoline. Let's say that Anvaere (Marie, I know it's spelt wrong) is about two years older. Moiraine arrived at the tower at age 16. This would give her some time to manipulate and eavesdrop on her siblings.

But back to Moiraine, I think her being more than five years younger would make sense. But RJ isn't known for using logic.

Moiraine would have been relying on memories to answer the Sitter's questions, as she hadn't been out of the Tower in six years.

Not so. Remember her father died while she was in the Tower. One of her sisters most likely sent a letter. And novices/accepted can have family visits. Not a lot of visits but I doubt they would be too angry about a brief catch up and hug.

I'm curious as to what happened to her sisters, and where Caraline came from.
