I suppose you've all seen the news. I was wondering do we have a forum member from New Orleans?

I don't think so. But then, the hurricane has also been horrid to Mississippi, and I happen to have family there. It's strange, because I knew there was a bad storm headed that way but of course, no one knew it was going to be as bad as it is.

 

Entire towns just destroyed. I need to get in touch with my grandmother to see if anything has happened to the family, especially my grandfather. Truth be told I'm starting to get majorly stressed out about this.

Yeah I think I can understand. I have a friend there. At least I know she's ok. She told me that they've woken her up at about 2 AM and it was like "ok, we're evacuating". About a month ago there was a flood here and although it looks small compared to this in N.O. I happened to be there at that time. It was freakin' I hate to think what it was for the people there

My cousin had a house in New Orleans...it was destroyed, but he was at home (Ireland, I mean) during the hurricane so he hasn't suffered much apart from property loss.

I called my grandmother. The family suffered a power outage for three days, but they're all okay.

I read about katrina and saw the pics on TV, it is quite devastating Hope your grand parents are ok, marie. Luckily I have no relatives in that part of the US. It will take quite some time till their lives are back to normal.

Yeah, there's just so much damage....and bodies floating around....houses demolished....I watched Oprah today, not pretty....our school's having this thing of Fri during the football game.
