New Spring...

Ok, I've seen something odd so I wanted to ask. There's a text on the back of the book New Spring that says "New Spring is an 'extension' (ok I'm not sure about this word) of New Spring The Novel"

Ok, that means that there's a shorter version or what? And is it different or it's just shorter.

 

That bugged me for a long time ago. Maybe it didn't deserve a new thread but it would be offtopic everywhere else...

The shorter version of New Spring was in a collection of short stories called Legends. RJ originally wanted it longer but had to cut it to fit it into the collection. The difference is that the entire first part including all of the White Tower parts were not included. Some other minor changes in the second part happened too, I think.. but mainly just change of PoV stuff.

Oh... I thought that it was a collection of RJ's stories not of other authors' stories... that's why i didn't do a search.

I had no idea there was a website actually, lol. I just couldn't remember who was in it so I searched...and was suprised to find one!

 

A very ugly one at that.
