Siuan wasn't in her room. Chances were she was on a hunt for sweet cakes. The girl could eat three without breathing. However, Moiraine couldn't find her in any of the usual spots. Deciding the search was futile, she headed back to the Accepted quarters. It was on the way back that something caught her eye.

 

Ellid and Siuan were huddled in an alcove, whispering in each other's ears. Or so it first appeared. Ellid's hands were buried in Siuan's hair, her mouth leaving streaks of wetness. Moiraine could almost hear Siuan's panting, as she gave a fierce squeeze to Ellid's breasts. Moiraine watched horrified as the two made their way back to the Accepted quarters, giggling all the way to Ellid's room.

 

In distress, Moiraine found herself knocking on Myrelle's door.

 

"Who...Moiraine...? Light! What's wrong, dear?"

 

"Siuan she...she and Ellid..."

 

"Shush shush, come inside," Myrelle shepherded Moiraine into the small room. She couldn't even see the bed her eyes were so full of tears. "What happened?"

 

Where to begin? "I was looking for Siuan and...and I saw her with...." Moiraine couldn't say the words, they just wouldn't come. "I'm sorry, Myrelle, but...could I stay here tonight? I don't want to be alone."

 

"Of course!"

 

After negotiating the blankets, they settled in for the night. Or at least Myrelle did; Moiraine couldn't fall to sleep to save her life. Instead, the night's events scrolled through her mind over and over until she felt like she was going to burst.

 

"Don't cry," Myrelle's voice startled Moiraine. The woman wiped her tears away gently. "Everything will be all right. You'll see."

 

Myrelle's hand on her face caused butterflies to erupt in Moiraine's stomach. Without thinking she kissed her. When Myrelle didn't protest she pressed her lips harder, slipping her tongue tentatively inside Myrelle
