  1. I'm confused, The Gathering Storm cost 22$ US. But...

Towers of Midnight cost 16$, why is it so much cheaper? Or is that just a pre-order deal? Especially since I read it will have about 10% more words.

Should I order now to save 6$? o.O *Seems BN is giving me FreeShipping...*

  2. Declar my friend thought of (I just added the ir) the rest I thought of, took me some time! lol. I'm terrible with names. I seem to be able to write girl names if I spend some time at it, but not guy names, been having a friend help me with those.

    Thanks Ekho! :D

  3. If someone could give me a little help please :marie:. Writing a chapter and I can't decide what name to use!

Time era is about the same as WoT and the girl appears to be High Born, any thoughts from these names?

Selice, Declair, Seili, Evilie, Evilile, Eviline, Lisiliete, Rislete, Risele, Elisia, Alise, Aliseia, Rilete, Rilethe.

  4. Seen Salt, I personally thought it was good. A pretty good action movie. Not too many plot twist or too "deep" of a movie, straight forward action, with a decent/good storyline. Bit over the top action, but it's a Movie. I liked it =].

Also saw the Sorcerer's Apprentice....TERRIBLE movie. Typical, cliched, lame Disney movie. 2/5.

  5. Been thinking about seeing that...maybe I should now that it's got an Asmo approved stamp! + A Marie approved stamp! I don't think it gets better than that

  6. Yeah, I was thinking "unless he's in Palm Springs". :runcry:

I always roll my eyes at the people who complain about 80. Out here that is like celebration time!

Ditto! 80* is a blessing compared to anything about 95*+ is just too hot. But 80's? Pfft, my room is 80*, lol.

Good to know someone else knows my pain :wow:

Temperatures here aren't so bad at night. During the day they've been annoying lately. We're getting mid-to-high 90s, but with the humidity going through the roof heat indexes keep putting us 110-115.

When it rains it only means that tomorrow will be worse.

Ironically, this is also the time of year I spend the most time outside.

Why is that? (That you spend much time outside during summer?)

I just got a GTX 285 graphics card for 90$!!!! (retail = 300$). Woohoo! Some guy that happened to live near me posted it up on craigslist. He bought a few, and apparently didn't need that many, so he just sold it to get ride of it. Steal! Now I can FINALLY watch my Glorious 1080p HD anime on my beautiful 1080p HD 23" LCD monitor, since this Gcard has HDMI on it! *Is a VERY happy man*.

  7. What final?

We're having a real summer in Sweden. And we had a pretty good winter too. The seasons are really being seasons for once!

    My Flash final, silly!

    I envy you all!

Living in the desert as I do, there's no snow, no rain, no clouds, no fall/winter :runcry:.

Only summer, and less summer (=spring). Only Palm Trees. 115/45*C Temps for 5 months...Luckily I'm finally moving soon! I think.

Whenever I step outside my house, I always think "Man, how did the Aiel do this?" lol.

Awesome Ajit! :D Keep it up till you get it!

I doubt you envy us in Arizona! It stays in the 100s even at night.

Pretty much the same for us, though I'm not that far from Arizona. Palm Springs. 93* right now, and it's 2:30 am, Deserts suck! :wow:

Makes it hard to sleep at night, lol. Can't wait to move to Utah, where it doesn't go beyond 80*'s.

  8. I envy you all!

  9. Maybe it was his spare sword?

For some reason I find the idea of Lan having a spare sword really funny. :)

Me too, lol. Lan's spare sword is his hands! He'll tear a man apart ;). Well...with that thought, I suppose he even has a third backup sword :)

Other than author-oversight, it probably would be a form of stress-relief. A man who is basically a sword himself probably has very few things that would qualify as any kind of 'fun'.

Maybe it's just to "stay in practice". You know, how if you don't do something, you become lazy and what not. So he does it to help keep in routine with being a swordsmen? (That was poorly put, but I think you all know what I mean). But that wouldn't quite fit either.

I have to agree with Sazh, I think your idea makes the most sense. He was doing it to relieve stress.

  10. I also noticed something a while ago.

In the beginning of DR when Rand first comes out, (I don't know where he was) he sees Lan sharpening his sword.

RJ said like a million times that the sword was Aes Sedai made, and no matter what you do, it does not need sharpening EVER.

Now, maybe he was just bored, but Lan isn't quite the type who would do something that he knows isn't necessary. xD

I just came across this! Although it is at the very end of TGH, not DR. :)

But that makes it worse because at the beginning of TGH Lan is the one who tells Rand those swords don't need sharping and it is a fool's errand. I can be more forgiving of cross-book mistakes but within the same novel?! :)

Wow, go figure! Maybe there's some other meaning to it? Because that would be kind of silly?

  11. Seems so far the concesus is from the begging, lol.

As for me, I do not honestly remember. I would say somewhere between book 3-5. I know for sure though by the end of book 5 she was one of my favorites. Because I greatly enjoyed New Spring.
