Sivart Reborn

It's a fantasy adventure, of course! I kind of miss the epic fantasy worlds I grew up reading about, and Sanderson sadly has been a miss for me. I just don't love his writing, and he is the big name people continually recommend me now. If had had to describe my own work, it is rather reconstructive of the elements that seem to have fallen out of vogue, everyone is a big fan of very cynical works since Game of Thrones as far as I have seen. I do have a bit of an anti-theist bent to it, though. It's very rough, but I am having fun with it.

I'm well. Looking for a new job as I am tired of my career cul du sac. But nothing bad has happened in my life, so I honestly cannot complain. Oh! I am 39k words into my own attempt to write a book! That is exciting, as writing is a hobby I haven't really revisited much since I was a teenager. You know, back before the WoT series of completed.

Hello everyone. Just wishing everyone well. Strange as it is to say, I think I would be sad if I checked for this little forum and could not find it anymore.

I would really like to go to Istanbul for my studies, but that keeps looking more and more unlikely.

I'm not innately put off by this idea. A lot of Perrin's conflict is internal, particularly the "axe vs. hammer" stuff. It could be useful visual shorthand for why he is so angst-ridden all the damn time. That said, this also runs the risk of having only a superficial resemblance to the source material, and setting that as precedent. If that is the case, why no make an original fantasy series rather than an adaptation?

I intend to at least start watching this show, but I'm not going to go in with any kind of hopes. I'm largely indifferent towards the casting so far, but I'm also not one of the sort who necessarily wants actors to resemble the characters physically. Fingers crossed, but not holding my breath. If nothing else, finding out people know something about WoT is kind of interesting among my friends.
