It tastes yummy in my tummy
-
*nods*
Thom likes women he can get a grip of.
-
It makes your tummy all warmy and stuff!
-
Maybe she'll come back old and wrinkly.
*horrified*
-
*squints*
I've read that somewhere...
*gives Niklas a glass anyway*
-
Imagine the hilarity that would ensure. *smiles at thought*
-
*swats Niklas*
I would have given you a glass had you asked!
-
*slides whiskey out of sleeve*
What did you have in mind?

There are two cats in the white tower. One called Kit, the other called Kat. They like tuna.
-
Like Nynaeve.
-
No...I'll think that she might come back with her spirit broken and that'll make her softer.

So...WoT is an ethnically diverse place. Unlike our world, which suffers from racial discrimination and what, WoT seems pleasantly devoid of any such tensions.
So how'd we miss Tuon and Semmy were black, eh? Semmy was described as 'black porcelain' and I'm betting most of our esteemed readers simply skipped the word 'black' and went straight to porcelain. Perhaps because all the main characters are white, we assume anyone whom they come into contact with is also white, until we are pointedly told otherwise.
I didn't have a clue that Semmy was black until I was told otherwise - and I'll be honest, I still picture her as white. Because I assumed that she was for so long, I have difficulty changing that perception.
So who else didn't fit our perceived perceptions of them, in the NS comics or until we were corrected? Or until we re-read WoT?
The one thing that springs to mind is that I was amazed to find out that Sheriam had red hair. Even though, as Marie kindly pointed out, that's mentioned everytime she's on-screen, I pointedly ignore that fact.
So...discuss
(don't you all love my discussions?)

I think so. Softer, maybe.

*takes Meat from Travis*
I'll just eat all this nasty tempting meat...saving Kaitlin and the like...all very noble...

It's a bit annoying that she's just working to get herself on the throne instead of trying to do what's best for the country.
I think right now what would be best for Andor is getting a stable leader, so I would consider what Elayne is doing quite justified. Other leaders are clambering for leadership of Andor and there's no point in giving alms to the poor if they're all going to be cut down in a civil war.

Do Tear and Cairhien have some sort of feud or am I making that up?
Maybe Caraline and the Tairen will smooth over that feud, her as Queen of Cairhien, he as King of Tear.
Or something.
-
I don't actually think Moiraine will become Queen. I can't actually see RJ setting aside that type of future for her.
I'm betting Caraline, with possibly the Tairen as Prince Consort?
-
So...time for some WoT discussions, methinks, as we don't actually do a lot of that around here, only discuss how great/what a sex god Moiraine is.
Who do you think the throne of Cairhien will pass to? Or will it pass to anyone? RJ has hinted at leaving loose ends, so will this be one of them?
Possible candidates for the Cairhienin Crown (oooh...alliteration
)
1. Our own dear Moiraine Sedai, light forever shine on her.
2. Caraline, our dear Moiraine's cousin and pale imitation.
3. Galad, for connections with Daddy Damodred. And he probably wont have much to do once the Last Battle is over.
4. Gawyn...again, connections with Daddy Damodred and he is Elayne's brother. But has the world had enough of the Trakand siblings? I have. And he does have the whole plot going on with Egwene, so he might be warder material before he's a King... (and by god, wouldn't we all hate to see him Kind of anywhere?!)
5. Elayne Trakand, because Rand wants her to have it. Elayne doesn't want the throne of Cairhien and I doubt the people of Cairhien would accept her on it. Revolution, anyone?
6. Assorted Cairhienin nobles, as they're all very canniving and things like that...
So...discuss!

Your kindness warms my heart, Jan!

Elaida.. oh why must her dress be so complicated! Promise me' date=' Laura, you won't rip it off right away before you take a little look at it.

*appalled at very suggestion*
Kaitlin. I am a Lady. I will gaze at Elaida in her wholeness for many minutes before ripping it off.
Thanks very much though.

Shush! Or everyone will want a gift!
*looks around quickly*
-
Hilarious.

Oooh...I actually liked that. Well done

Oooh...nasty Jan
