I too believe in god i just disagree with the catholic church on just about every issue possible so have stopped going to church, but if asked I always describe myself as catholic simply because thats how I was raised, and school brainwashed me into always thinking it;)

Religion didn't shape us, we shaped religion and that's a big difference even if it doesn't seem like it.

Some really interesting points. I personnally believe that most ancient religions were set up to explain why things happen, for example people didn't know why the sun set so they set up a story about the sun god riding a chariot across the sky, like in the ancient greek religion. However I think the main reason for the growing amount of athiests is that we have science to explain everything and no longer need religion. just my opinion...hope it makes sense:P

I can see why you may think moiraine's sisters are dead, but I don't agree, the idea of the damodreds being killed off probably isin't true since we know they were still one of the most influential families in Carhien after new spring so theres clearly alot of them left.
But I do agree that moiraine was probably spoilt:P

Yeah Taringail was the oldest, I never thought moiraine was very close to either of her sisters, when she talked about them in NS it always seemed as if they never got along well with each other
