I just thought of a really hot guy who could be Thom

I'm in a constant struggle trying to convince people that old men can be hot. Well, there's this dude in Deathly Hallows Part I that is really hot. I thought that before I ever thought about Thom.

 

Ugh, I just looked him up and he's only 52. But he looks older :/

Maybe it is time to rethink the Thom movie cast poll.

We need more straight or bi girls or gay guys to find more Movie Thoms. Thom is lanky, he is not scrawny. He used to be pretty, so there's pretty left there but with some ruggedness. Also, this idea of casting an actor in his fifties: I like.

I've never really paid all that much attention to dream casts for a WoT movie, but this man actually looks surprisingly like my vision of Thom. With less mustache, but still. And, frankly, I don't see why Thom SHOULDN'T be in his early 50s. Just mixes better. Alas, RJ, I did not, do not, and will not understand you.

Sentiment shared! There's really no reason why Thom can't be in his fifties. It even still works with the timeline.

60 would have been fine too. There are at least 3 60 year olds I would date at the drop of a hat and I'm younger than Moiraine.

 

But the main reason 70 bothers me is because I have to try to convince so many people

Even if Thom is in his seventies, he's a rare type who is extremely physically fit for his age. The man could do flips before his knee was damaged. There aren't too many men who are as fit as that at that age. It'd still make sense to cast someone who looked the part even if he didn't do his own stunts. Casting someone in their fifties would be easier.
