Something I was never sure about

Recommended Posts

Bets he will reach book ten first, lol[/size']

It's not reaching book 10 that's the problem. It's getting past it! I read books 1 to 9 over a period of two months. Been on book 10 since July last year!!

Maybe when you get past it, you'll do a little synopsis for me, eh? :P

Is there a difference between the True Power as opposed to the One Power in terms of use and usefulness?

And how does Ishamael restore Lews Therin's sanity after he killed everyone close to him?

Yes there is.

The One Power is the power that drives the universe. As you know it has male and female power.

The True power on the other hand doesn't have different parts (like saidin and saidar) and is the power that comes from the Dark One.

You get used to The True power much much quicker than to the One Power and the desire to channel from the True Source is much bigger. As I imagine it it should be some kind of taint, because of the black spots that appear in the channeler's eyes.

The True Power was the reason for opening the hole in the prison of the Dark One. Mierin and other Aes Sedai found out that there is another source of power in the Great Pattern and by creating a whole to reach it they actually opened the way to the Dark One, because this power is driven from him.

In the Age of Legends the Forsaken were able and had permission to use the True Power but in this age they can't. I dunno why but as Moghedien is shielded from the One Power she doesn't channel the True Power to save herself. Only the one who is chosen for Ne-Bliss (sp?) will be given the privilige to use this source (in this case Moridin).

Okay... I guess my question was answered, now I will spend time putting together anti-Rand stuff in my head, rather than, "What the heck is Ishemael doing?!" stuff.

I don't know whydo you bother so much about Ishmael's healing. Everything could be done with the One Power. Personally i think that Ishmael is using the One Power there. For example take the "stimulating pleasure", i don't remember where it was. A Forsaken had a gaidin and an Aes Sedai in captivity in Shaiol Gul and she stimulated the parts of the brain of the gaidin where were the centres of pleasure. So Ishmael just did some kind of brain healing to heal madness (as the psychiatrist today give out pills ;) ) But because he is evil his healing hurts :o Even if he does use the True Power i don't think that it would be different, the arguments stay the same
