Did Moiraine sever her bond with Lan?

Interesting... I've read many versions and theories about how Moiraine disappeared/if she's coming back/etc., but something that jumped out at me in Fires of Heaven is what no one is speaking about: she seemed to have severed her bond with Lan *before* she died! Remember, she crawls out from under the caravan and looks at Lan unconscious, and thinks he is perhaps dying, perhaps finding the strength to rise. If she was still bonded to him, she would have known, wouldn't she?

 

Also, she says "he must live or die without her now" or something like that.

I've always wondered about that also. However, after Moiraine and Lanfear disappear into the redstone doorway, Lan say's something along the lines of: "I can no longer feel her". He probably would have noticed that he couldn't feel her before Rand burned the doorway.

 

She'd better come back.

Oh RJ will certainly have something violent and painful done to him if she doesn't come back...

 

But about Lan, well, he was out cold for most of the time and maybe he just dashed after her without thinking much of what he was feeling. I wonder what'll happen about Lan if Moiraine does return. (I'm reading book 8, so if you can answer without giving spoilers, you'll have my eternal gratitude!)

I've always thought Moiraine severed it herself. Because if Rand can tell that Alanna stubbed her toe, why couldn't Moiraine feel the difference between Lan dying or trying to get up?

I'm with Marie, I believe that Moiraine severed her bond before she jumped through the doorway, thus preventing Lan from facing the full shock of her disapperance.
