I'm sure theres a reason for Alanna bonding Rand, she tried to pass the bond to Cadsuane, so maybe when moiraine comes back she'll pass the bond to her...although thats just a theory

I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, but she was pretty flipped out over her Warders all dying. She went a bit nutto. *is changing her mind about Verin* That is why I found it so weird that Verin was basically not doing what was best for her. After that compelling she did on those other Aes Sedai, I just wonder if she was doing the same to Alanna. The other Aes Sedai had to be in a weakened state of mind for the compelling to work, didn't they?

 

I do think there should be serious consequenses for Alanna in all fairness. I don't agree with the stupid idea of letting the Aes Sedai bond the same number of male channelers from the Logain thing either.

I'm torn on the Aes Sedai bonding male channelers thing. : But I think that's mostly because I'm so angry at what Logain and his bunch did I want revenge.

Bonding against their will, is a violation of the individual, regardless of if the reason was following orders, as was the case for Logain, or because of the loss that Alanna was suffering.

 

Of course, now that there are basically 2 each of the Towers, does that mean that twice as many Ashaman will be bonded?

 

As for Mat and Tylin...I see people confusing things, Mat liked Tylin, not all that she forced him to do.

 

Remember, many thought of him as "Tylin's Toy", her own son thought that Tylin's actions were wrong.

 

And could someone please find me a citation, in the books, where Mat, when he was the one doing the chasing, ever treated a partner as anything less than an equal?

I'm not actually sure what you're trying to say here. Yes, forced bonding is wrong no matter what.

Beslan didn't dislike the entire situation, he just thought his mother was going too far. And the problem with finding a citation or quote in regards to Mat is that we don't have any p.o.v.'s of the women he was chasing.

Well, I seriously doubt that if the roles of Mat and Tylin were reversed that I'd read that Tylin liked it, as I have seen in this thread about how Mat liked it.

I think the problem lies on RJ's part. He used humor, and I'm sorry, but to me humor and rape/abuse do not go together. If he had left that out then I would agree with you, but as it stands I just can't get over how Mat's complaints seemed centered around he wasn't in control and the "haha isn't that funny" style of writing RJ used.
