Somebody cheer me up

Guess what, I got my first rejection from a publisher. I don't know why that should make me feel so bad, as it probably means I've 'arrived' as an author!! Right?

 

THe thing is, they were so keen initially. They said the stuff was 'impressive'. And then, months later, they were all: 'promising, but we can't publish it in its current form', and should I want to rework it, I should keep them posted.

 

Bah!

 

And they won't even tell me what they don't like! This is what I think:

Uh, Jan....I wouldn't really look too much into Nimue's advice....I mean really...look at the WoT series.....so yeah. You just just complain to them that they didn't tell you what you should change. ~nods~

Lists publishers, agents, etc, etc, and it has a new edition every year.
