The Lord of Chaos is giving me chaos!

Would you believe that after Borders didn't have LOC, I just went to the library and the copy they had no one ever returned! (was due back in Feb!)

It's been a week since I finished Fires of Heaven!

I finally got it! But speaking of mulling all over town, would you believe that New Spring and Crossroad of Twilight are both available for sale in hardcover at my local Dollar Tree? That's New Spring for 1 dollar! I don't know if that's exciting or disturbing.

It's just the evolution of hardcover book sales. Once there are paper backs available they can't really ask the same price. Any revenue is good at that point. Do you have a favorite book thus far?

I loooove New Spring, followed by Eye of the World.

I think both give great insight into Mo's character and I really liked in Eye how you're trying to figure her out. You don't even know if shes good or bad. It also had a lot of great exciting scenes so it really kept me on my toes. After that you've got things petty much figured out and there's a steady momentum that increases over the rest of the books (at least the ones I've read so far).

I love New Spring bc it it's so Moiraine-a-rific. My favorite aspect of it was that it gave a lot of glimpse into the "human" side of her. You learned more about her personality and even some of her flaws. It's going to be really cool to reread Eye knowing now all that background on her. It will give it a whole new twist. But I need to finish the series first.

Finish the series.... yes we all need to do that.

I shall warn you, the books take an interesting twist as they go. RJ starts to really branch out in his character view points. Sometimes this is really effective (like with the Forsaken)

Sometimes it's annoying and throws the pace off. Each book is exciting in its own right, but here are a couple of suggestions to consider. Read Crown of Swords and Path of Daggers as if you're reading one book. Story arcs rise and fall through out and not always as we assume they will. Lord of Chaos is great, as is Wintersheart.

The black sheep of the series is Crossroads of Twilight (ironically it also has an awesome title) It has some cool stuff in there worth reading, but it's the first book that even RJ felt wasn't up to snuff. The publishers demanded a book, so he gave what he had. As I say, there are somethings in there that are great, but you don't really need to worry for a while. There are a lot of pages yet.

Knife of Dreams is really enjoyable.

Gaidin 17 told me the same thing about Crossroads of Twilight. It's also for sale at the Dollar Store! maybe that's why. the pace in LOC seems strong and steady right now so that's good. i'm still flipping around for Moiraine's name though *sigh* and of course I only found it once in like one sentence.

When you finish the series, you absolutely MUST read the mock summaries of all the WoT books, found here. :getcookie: They are the funniest WoT fan-work I've ever seen. Or if you don't want to wait, just read the summaries of the books you've already read and then come back to list once you finish the others.
