We Went For a Ride (WIP)

Recommended Posts

I promised Kaitlin I would post the start of this fic, so it is not finished, only just began! But it is a promised fulfilled. :flower:

There was something utterly mysterious about Ryne. He never revealed much about himself, but Moiraine became more and more interested in spite of herself. Somehow they managed to spend time apart from Bukama and Lan, or as apart as they could be under the circumstances. At first she had attempted to dig deeper and discover which Aes Sedai Ryne had been in contact with, but gradually she found herself simply enjoying his company. His seemingly never ending compliments about her person were nice, yet she was not some lightskirt to be lulled by such things. They were just pleasant to hear from such a pretty face.

It was on a cloudy night she saw him brushing his long hair out. He saw her looking--how could he not with her gaping like a fool?--and a small smile slowly crept onto his face. That smile seemed to pull her over toward him until she was standing over him, much too close. Yet her fingers began to comb through that dark hair, with him looking up into her eyes, and a warmth started to overtake her body. He pulled her down onto his lap and kissed her so deep fire burst from her skin. His hands roamed her body and for once she cared not about what was proper and decent: the world outside of his lips and touch ceased to exist.

Thankfully Ryne seemed to remember that they were not truly alone and put a stop to their passion before anything more grave than Moiraine's hair becoming mussed and dress askew could occur. Even so, she felt more disappointed at him stopping than embarrassment from Lan and Bukama's knowing looks. Thankfully they only gave those looks to Ryne. Disappointed she may be, but she was very grateful the two men had not actually witnessed the kissing. Not that kissing was anything to be ashamed of; you just didn't do certain things where others could see.

The next morning Ryne stole a few chaste kisses with not a care of who could see. He at least had the sense to whisper when he voiced his idea about finding a hayloft. A suggestion Moiraine certainly did *not* giggle over. But she did keep her eye out.

There were no haylofts that night to encamp in, but Moiraine's hair managed to get mussed all over again although not nearly as badly as Ryne's. Somehow they ended up on the forest floor with his shirt half unlaced and her moaning like a tavern wench. His fingers flickering between her thighs snapped her back to reality. Light, her heart was beating so hard she could choke on it.

"Ryne," that breathy voice was surely not hers. "Ryne, we cannot do this." That was suitably firm.

He gave her that small smile of his. "You mean you do not want this?"

"I mean we cannot do...this...here." If she blushed any harder she'd melt.

Ryne rose, and only then when his warmth left her did she became aware of being naked to the waist. Ryne did not hide his admiration, which surprisingly Moiraine didn't mind. Until she heard a soft chuckle from fifteen feet away and remembered who else was in the wood. Thank the Light for thick tree trunks.
