As long as Sanderson doesn't mess this up (or RJ hasn't messed it up in notes) I think this is my favorite pairing. I would like it better if Thom were a woman (seriously, a female character that has Thom's basic characteristics but is still wotishly womanly) but I cannot have everything I want. And that is a subject for another thread.

 

Moiraine and Thom are kind of perfect for each other, imo. It doesn't seem like they would be, but that is what is cool about it. Thom is kind of a woobie softie about Mo, and Moiraine is kind of a player. Although, Moiraine seems like she'd be the softer one and Thom is known for hooking up a lot for an old guy. This is a part of what makes them interesting to me as a pairing.

OK, so. Moiraine is aware Thom has some affection for her, but when Thom first got her letter (before reading it, though) he seemed to imply that not even Aes Sedai hide as much as they think which, uh, I guess means he picked up on her affection for him. So it's like, if you both know the other is digging you, why not just get it over with?! Instead, I have had to wait TEN YEARS and I still don't know if I'll see them hook up this year.

Let us be real here: If Moiraine had showed up in Thom's room and was all "let's make out" he'd do it. He might regret it in the morning, but he'd do it. Enough kisses and he wouldn't care about her being AS!

I blame Rand. He put her in such a bad mood in Tear, and then she'd have to go all the way down to the servant's quarters (which probably have thin walls) to pop into Thom's room for some making out. And I blame Mat. She followed him around all the time because he was too sneaky for her spies to do her work for her.

i just wonder how soon after rescue they'll tie the knot. what does everyone else think? i can't make up my mind if she'll bond him before or after.

I don't know if I want the bonding to happen on or off screen. I think a queen *can*, although so can a Wisdom maybe? Their marriages are a lot less involved then some of the other ceremonies.

Vandene and her sister's Warder was pretty damn old. And, and, and in the AOL people lived a long time and maybe health will improve again after TG. And, and, and maybe I just want to live in fantasy land where Thom and Moiraine live happily ever after and long enough together to have some babies and a cat.

Yes, exactly! The Warder bond will enhance his heart's ability to keep beating! Besides, he is described as being old due to experience vs. age...so, yeah he and Mo will have a nice life together. Probably longer than Nyn and Lan.

lol You guys really hate Thom being old, hm? I think they would be a decent couple but I feel there needed to be more relationship building. Thom hasn't seen Moiraine since the Stone and he is suddenly in love? I do not know what Moiraine would see in him.

They both think about people in similar ways, or at least Thom would understand the way Moiraine thinks about people. He is respectful and wary of her because she's an Aes Sedai but then again knows how to make her laugh. He's mysterious and has been with a Queen before, so he knows how to appreciate the person behind the Professional. I think Moiraine being an AS is a stumbling block for Thom to get over and Moiraine knows it. That seems to be the biggest thing holding them up.
