I wonder how much charisma effects things..
Joan of Arc was a heroine at seventeen. She led troops into war, commanded campaigns, and won several key victories for her people. She was a female, and she was incredibly young. She said her visions came to her by God, but oftentimes women would portray themselves as a prophetic voice so that they would be listened to by men. She must have had armloads of charisma to be seen the way she needed (or wanted) the men to see her. Of course, that same charisma made her a target and she was murdered by nineteen.
Now look at President Bush (for example). How has he gotten where he has? Theoretically he's older and should have more experience, thereby making him a better leader. Is he?

Whatever do you mean, Marie?Perrin, I used to love and now dislike. He complains about people thinking that their personal issues are more important than the Last Battle. I don't think I even need to finish my thought for people to know where I was going with that.*is evil today* Bwa! You've got to reply now. *evil*
*evil*
*evil?*

I found Eye to be a bit formulaic. It's still excellent though. I dunno why, but I love all the moments of character interaction that happen between all the action. Meeting Loial in Eye is still one of my favorite parts.

Caddy just seems like she'd look old, cause she's got that caustic attitude.
*thinks Galad is actually the most lovely*

Ack, and there I was taking things seriously!Kate! I was hoping you would say something silly and make me giggle.Very good responses from everybody.
I think Siuan would also be jealous of Moiraine's bosom. Who wouldn't?
-
Cadsuane is probably still attractive. She's got the ageless face and youthful body.
*feels her mental functions slowly shutting down* Must Not Think Of Caddy Naked...

Why thank you!
Should a leader of a small group behave any differently than a leader of a very large group of people? Should one be able to do both things in order to be effective, or do you guys believe that certain people are just better suited to certain things...
-
I was going to put this in the wot section, but I'm already thinking of ways I'll make it go off-topic of wot, so it better go here!
What makes a good leader, in your own estimation? What are the qualities that a person has to have or learn to have to be successful as a leader of a country, city state, etc.?
1. Age - whether old or young, or somewhere in between... does a person's age have anything to do with whether you find them a good leader?
2. Sex - Does it matter whether they're male or female to you? And while we're on the subject... I guess I should say.. are there certain ways they need to be for you to respect them in terms of sexuality?
3. Personality - How should they act? Is your idea of a good leader like a father or mother (no gender preference on either)? Would you rather them be like a teacher or commander, like a ruler or simple voice of the people? Is there another way you would like your good leader to be?
Add more things if you like.
I made a new thread instead of going more off-topic! *wonders if a cookie will be involved*

*was asking who would make a better Amyrlin than Egghead, actually*
Yeh, a lot of those are good, but I still said she was just better than some leaders, not those in particular.
I do think she's better than Perrin at the moment, just because he was thinking of Faile and not his people by running off and abandoning the Two Rivers for so long. It's hard when your significant other goes all captured, though.

most randland leaders aren't too bad (with the exception of Elayne) and I can't stand Egwene she tries to hard and I think there are better characters suited to position of amyrilin
Like who?
-
That's disgusting! *stomp*
-
Yes, Sivvy.
*still approves of a lot of what she did in the last book, and most from the one before* She does listen to advice (but isn't led around by a leash, meep!)... that's much better than some of those silly randland leaders.
-
Hm, this is difficult... *would have a hard time responding with non-goofy answers*
For the first one, maybe Moiraine would say that Siuan is brave.. and Siuan might say.. *hmms* that Mo always tries her hardest? Or maybe the other way around...
*is looking forward to seeing what other people will say*
-
*gets less scary with time*
It's no fault of anyone else if you keep imagining weird things, Marie.
-
True again.
I remember that Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie came out, and all the guys were lusting after that cartoon gal with the big... hair.
-
But then how many stories have ugly female characters at all?
You're very right, that's true. *nod*
-
Maybe she has gone all barbaric (as much as a Momo could go) and has taken to eating the Finn.
She could dump Thom for that Elyas guy and sit around in dead animals scratching herself - but with perfect hair.
-
The Bean took a bunch of studio pictures of the dollies that have been finished so far. I can't show the wot ones yet as the people getting them haven't yet.
She took about a thousand of each doll, lol... I like the beach effect with Jack and the snazziness of the girls. Elaida is being mailed on Mon, still have to wait for the domestic shipping boxes to arrive in order to send Momo.
-
But what did they do with all of her meat, eh?! That's right! Fed it to Momo!
*had that horrible thought too!* Lanfear meat. And no spices to hide the taste! Yuck! Maybe Momo will be the first vegan of Randland when she gets back.
...Hopefully they have more food that just Lanfear's remainsTheir world is so different... hopefully the food isn't indigestable.
-
Well, they do wear human skin. Maybe they're satisfied with Lanfear's, being the most beautiful skin and whatnot. Bleh!
-
*is mostly Lesbian too* And Jack Sparrow is pretty! Do not feel bad for having a crush on him.
Ya, fictional people are much better. If you don't know something about them you can just invent it.
*bounce*
-
Ack, but then she'd get tired of it and wouldn't like dancing as much after.
-
You are right! It was her! *hands you a cookie*
That name is so nifty.. you can't go wrong with a name like Tsutama Rath. *nod*
-
Gah!!! *pinch*
(What thread was it where Marie asked who was talking to Momo about being Queen? I thought it was this one.. but maybe I just overlooked it?)
