I've never thought Verin was a darkfriend, but that doesn't necessarily make her trustworthy. Its possible Moiraine included Verin in that letter simply because she was unsure of her motives towards helping Rand and wanted him to be careful.
Although I can't wait for Mo to come back and find out Cadsuane has been helping Rand. Should be interesting

Faile is the heir that much I can remember, Saldea must have an oldest child first policy since Faile mentioned having a younger brother yet she still ended up having to learn how to manage the family estate etc.

The view I always got is that the first few books, or so, were trying to put Aes Sedai on a pedestal. Then for the rest of the series it was all about finding out how many ways the Aes Sedai could be pulled off said pedestal.
I'm all for making characters more human but I think that could have been done in a much better way.

I was never a huge fan of the Kin, they bored me, especially in the beginning when all an Aes Sedai had to do was look at them funny and they would practically be in tears.
I would say that they became more tolerable when they started standing up for themselves and driving Nynaeve insane
