Oh! My Goddess

Recommended Posts

While browsing through the new sections of the FAQ on wotmania, I found an interesting bit concerning Moiraine.

Green Man and Goddess

In contemporary Western paganism, the Green Man is also the symbol of male fertility in Nature and he has a close relationship with the female expression of fertility: the Goddess. As is described in the Arthurian myth FAQ, Moiraine is a Goddess figure, which is why she is so closely associated with the Green Man; indeed she was the only being to find the Green Man twice. :( oh, I'm so impressed... I got my info only after researching for names!

By the way, I found these interesting:

MORGUASE, MORGAWSE, MARGAWSE: mother of Gawain

NINEVE, NIMUE, NYNEVE: the Lady of the Lake

Well. I could be geeky because when I was a child my father would have me read things and then quiz me on them. He was trying to build a thinker, but wasn't all that successful. :) I've always liked Arthurian legends, though. :(

Oh yeah, Nimue! She was the one that locked Merlin away in that cavern, wasn't she? Cool, Jan. 8)

Anyway.....wow. I never realized the WoT people were so close to the Arutherian people. And they're close in character personalities we well, yes? I know very little about Arutherian stuffs (that's a fun word to say, Aurthurian....:P)
