Towers of Midnight What did Thom mean

Every time I read that line I wonder if he means "held back" in life in general or held back from boning Moiraine in Tear.

how so? in the his hatred of aes sedai made him say stupid things that resulted in his death warrent and therefore ending his relationship with her way?

I think it meant his relationship with Moiraine. All that "she'd be a hot date if she weren't Aes Sedai" inner monologuing stuff he does. Also, doesn't he say to Mat something like Moiraine is a "fine woman, if she weren't Aes Sedai. Meddle with that sort and you get more than your fingers burned"? (I'm too lazy to go look up the TDR quote.)

More of less, but I also thought because Morgase had been trained in the tower that might have placed a problem on their relationship. But it could just as easily refer to his relationship (or lack thereof) with Moiraine

I believe it has to do with the resentment he felt with aes sedai because of his nephew. I could dredge up the quotes. His nephew was gentled because he could channel the one power. I would definitely hate someone who did that to my kin.

Yes...but then what are the options? I mean, in the case of Owyn it was done poorly and illegally, but in general no one wants men who can channel running around but they also don't want the men gentled if they are bloodkin. It's a lose-lose for Aes Sedai.
