A Memory of Light Has your opinion on the characters changed through the series?

With the series finally over and complete, how would you say your feelings have evolved from the start to the end? If at all?

 

For me, the character I have changed the least about is Moiraine. I loved her from the start and still do.

 

Min is a character I never really thought much of, then began to dislike her a tiny bit, but now I like her the most out of Rand's three.

 

Rand I liked a little during the first book, I did find him a little annoying, but he was young. I am not sure I like him at all now. He just got more annoying to me as time went on!

 

Mat/Perrin have not changed much either but I do like Mat a little more since saving Moiraine.

 

I've warmed up to Tuon and Elayne but I still find them very arrogant and demanding and not always very bright!

 

Egwene matured but I do not know if I would say for the better.

 

Thom I like a whole lot more now, not that I ever disliked him, I was just unsure of how his story arc would go.

When I started the books as an early adolescent, Mat and Faile were some of my favorites. Now that I've grown up a bit, they both seem immature and jerkish to me in their own ways, not people I would want to befriend. I used to think Rand was boring, but now I empathize with him a bit more although he still makes silly decisions sometimes. Egwene and Nynaeve were beginning favorites and still are.

 

Also, Cadsuane. Seething, seething hatred when I first read ACoS and TPoD. But now she's just irritating and misguided. And I can somewhat agree with (and be amused by) her "sick of your crap" attitude toward other Aes Sedai.

I don't think my opinions towards many of the characters has changed significantly. Still love Moiraine, Lanfear and Moggy for no explainable reason I like Nyneave alot more now than I did in the initial books. Egwene has continued to annoy me right up until her death.

 

I've always liked Mat, but by the end of the series he was probably one of my favourite characters. I probably stopped hating Rand so much, but still don't like him especially. I've went from indifference towards Perrin to actively disliking him.

Yes, opinion of Moiraine kind of took a hit. Mat I like more. I even kind of like Nynaeve now.
