And forty is not that old! She's a mere chick of an Aes Sedai.. not even considered a full AS adult really! There's not even a touch of grey in her hair. Plenty of decades yet before she's old.

 

I had a discussion with my father about this!

 

He said that royalty has different ideas about family. Maybe she was raised by one set of nannies and he was raised by another set. They aren't close to the same age and are half siblings. ...And maybe she knew he was a plucked duck from the beginning.

Yes, that's true. And, I don't necessarily agree with my father's opinion up there. It seems like Dalresin and his second wife were more hands on and less "royal" than his other brothers.

 

Maybe Moiraine had made peace with that situation years before?

Nope, I didn't find it odd.

I never got the feeling Mo was too close to any of her family. In NS she did that mostly because it was 'polite.'

That's what I seem to remember anyway, haven't read NS in a while.

She was close to her family...well, her mom/dad/sisters deal. Everyone else...a big no. The polite thing she did in NS was hide her sisters' faults from the Aes Sedai.
