I liked Asmo...I wish he could have stayed for a volume or two more.

I was skimming through this one again looking for Moiraine parts. I read the part where Mat, Rand, and Mo went through the Snakeyfinn doorway. I had some thoughts about this part.

 

- Mat just kicked that old door down in front of the storage room.

 

- Mat kept seeing flickers of movement from the corner of his eye. I wonder if that was Mat himself, Snakey people, and/or Moiraine and Rand. It would have been cool if it had turned out to be Mat.

 

- Mat got lots of answers (six?). It was probably due to having so many ta'veren in there.

 

-The Finn kept talking about how long it had been and dropping their jaws to feed. They seemed eager. They talked about the strain. The strain of having so many ta'veren there or the strain of keeping to the agreement and not feeding as much as they wanted to? I think it could have gone either way.

 

- The trees that Mat talked about outside the snakey building reminded me of Lorax trees. They were probably Finn versions of palm.

 

- The building was folded oddly. Mat kept seeing the three-spired metal structure outside the window when he was walking. It might be hard to rescue Mo just in terms of navigation.

 

- Why was it so important to RJ to make sure that Mat identified the women?

 

- Mat checked Mo out and thought about 'dancing' with her when she came out of the doorway.

 

- Moiraine was really really pissed. It surprises me sometimes when I just skim through the books because I am not used to that level of Mo anger. She is not a redhead.

 

- Did Mat take her answers? That would have been funny and also crappy.

 

- Rand tries to make a globe of light too after he sees Moiraine making one. His isn't that bad but not a perfect sphere. It would be nice if women and men could teach each other.

 

- The Snakey Finn shied away from Rand's fire and hid their eyes. That is a pretty literal part of the rhyme.

 

 

Also, I read the scene later on where Rand decides to send the Lords all up to Cairhien and then plunges Callandor into the Stone. Moiraine just shoved Egwene off of her like Egg was a sack of rotten potatoes after they all fell over. It made me laugh.
