Random question: do you guys think Sanderson ever visits this forum to see what Moiraine's fans are saying/expecting about her return? It's an interesting thought...

 

I wonder what else he would think about us, lol.

I don't think so. There are a lot of WoT fansites, many of them much bigger than our cozy little forum. We aren't the only Moiraine fans. He probably visits places like WoTmania or DragonMount.

I've lurked around on theoryland, wotmania, and dragonmount for years... I enjoy reading the discussion there... especially theoryland but I find it much to intimidating a place to actually post. I was very pleasantly suprised to find this place after finally getting around to googling Moiraine for fun after deciding to reread WoT in prep for the last three books... and after discovering how much I liked fanfiction recently! I was actually a little suprised not to have found this place before now!

it's so popular marie! sir google makes sure everyone comes here who loves Moiraine! I think most likely mierinsedai is sanderson. if he really wanted to go undercover he would masquerade as a woman with an avatar that would so make us think it's not him but that he secretly liked.

 

edit: funny you should mention fanfiction! i had never even heard of the time before until coming to this forum. then g17 found out i was writing my own and he torments me ceaselessy! he makes me feel like the BIGGEST goon. i think he's just getting back at me for all my teasing him for reading "those books with the dorky 80s covers" (was WOT!) for the first 5 years of our marriage. but i do also looooove fanfiction now. it's fun cause the characters are already developed and a lot of the plot, so it's easy/fun to sit down and write one! oddly though i refuse to let G 17 read a single one! the man i share everything with but i just can't let him read my fanfiction! he's banned from going on the fanfic folder on this forum. i can only share with other Mo goons.

 

only thing though is now im dabbling in a dark side i never knew i had to write about Elaida.

OMG yeah! I blame my older brother for leaving a copy of EotW in the bathroom years ago... but I never discovered fanfiction until recently and I absolutely love it... atleast as long as the characters and world aren't butchered. After rereading the first 3 books of the series and New Spring... I needed a Moiraine fix. There's not enough Moiraine in the actual series to satisfy me. Besides some of the stuff I've read around here could of been stolen from my head! I absolutely loooooove the stuff I've found around here with Moiraine, Siuan, and Elaida. Though now I've got an association between Moiraine and Phedre from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series stuck in my head! Don't think Mo is against some experimentation... just not to that degree.

 

And if I were Sanderson, WoT would be republished in the style of camwalt.
