War of Aes Sedai

Rand has only had two Aes Sedai advisors in his life (Nynaeve doesn't advise so much as...actually I'm not sure what Nynaeve does). Even though Rand has Cad on a death list, that hasn't stopped her from trying to pull strings. I think it is safe to say that after getting some Thom action Moiraine is going to to want to regain her position.

 

I'm pretty sure Rand will give it to her on a platter.

 

I'm pretty sure Cadsuane will not give up her chair as chief Aes Sedai behind the scenes.

 

Moiraine doesn't trust Cadsuane, Cadsuane thinks Moiraine fumbled with Rand; although once Moiraine learns what happened in book 12, she probably won't be thinking too highly of Cadsuane's abilities either.

 

They must have a confrontation. If they don't, that would be so unrealistic seeing as how Cadsuane has butted heads with EVERYONE, even Tam. Tam!

I kind of want them to work together to keep Rand in check, although this goes to show how much I dislike . The fact that I want this even more than Cad and Moiraine butting heads is saying something, because it is something I really really would like to read.

 

I don't want Cad knocked down at all. But I want Moiraine to keep her grown-up badassness. There is no way for me to choose which one I would like to see win. But the butting heads, it would be worth it on it's own. Moiraine's not as badass as Cad and so I suppose she would not win, because who would?

But what if she did? Wouldn't it be something if it was Moiraine of all people who made Cadsuane, well if not exactly humble, at least quiet for all of five minutes?

 

Assuming Cad doesn't fulfill her promise of spanking Moiraine for running off without permission twenty years ago.

Well, I didn't like it all at when it happened with Sem

, and this has no bearing on how I feel about Cad.

 

Could they see the use of each other? With Cad out of the loop maybe she can try to use Moiraine, though she's not a woman to be used. However, would Moiraine see the use of Cad as an ally if she doesn't still think she's BA? That was a long time ago when she was more immature, so I don't know if she'd still think that way.

Siuan still thought Cadsuane was BA. Probably did right up until

Verin's book was revealed

Siuan doesn't get people. When she talks about other people I barely pay attention! With Elaida I pay attention so I can think of the opposite of what she's saying... but with Siuan it's just kind of meh...

Moiraine and Cadsuane could team up to be the two women who will use Callandor with Rand, though I kinda think that will be Elayne and Aviendha. I really don't like Cadsuane but I know she's not the type to back down even when she's wrong, so I definitely agree that some headbutting between her and Moiraine will ensue if/when they meet again. On the other hand, Cadsuane could give Moiraine some backbone (by that I mean insult her) so she doesn't make another stupid promise to obey Rand like she did in TFoH; that really pissed me off despite Moiraine's reason for it.

Elayne can't channel, not reliably at least. There is no way she should be counted on to help win any battle involving the One Power.

 

I don't think it will be possible for Moiraine to meet up with Rand AND avoid Cadsuane. I wouldn't be surprised if she sought her out just to glare. Moiraine likes to glare.

Olivia I agree. I understood that, but it pissed me off too. Yes, I would like to see them bring out the best in each other.

You know, I'm not sure I was really upset by her submitting to him. I just found it funny because you could tell she hated it.

 

I wouldn't find it funny if she submitted to Cadsuane. But then, what if Cadsuane pulls the power level on her? The WT really needs to get rid of that system.

What are their power levels to each other? I mean, how much would Mo have to defer?

Far enough down to defer but not obey in normal conditions. But Cadsuane is anything but normal and seem to expect everyone to defer to her, even Nynaeve.

Yes, that's true! And Moiraine doesn't care about Tower law either. I now think that this may be my most anticipated scene after M/T

I actually am scared of how this scene will turn out. Jordan/Sanderson (okay, Sanderson did nothing to alter my opinion of anyone actually thus far) actually managed to make me dislike most of the characters on some level, the AS in general especially. I love me some Mo, and I can't stand Cad, but Mo vs. Cad can't end pretty.

 

(and I thought Cad butting heads with Tam was ridiculous...)
