Why should Moiraine be queen?

Recommended Posts

Because she needs a good cause after TG, and I can't think of anything I'd like her to do officially as an Aes Sedai. I don't like thinking of her near Egwene and following her orders (even though I like Egwene). Plus, I want Thom involved equally with whatever she ends up doing. I can't see them settling down and having babies and that's all. They can have babies and do other important stuff. I guess I can see them bringing the bad Reds to trial, but that kinda goes against the idea of trying to unify the tower.

I agree. They can have a family and be rulers. Or other important stuff, I guess, but Moiraine really should be the queen with Thom as her consort or what have you.

Aww, no love for Elayne?

j/k

It would be great if the Two Rivers staged a coup on her.

"Seize the wench!"

"Tar and feathers, ho!"

"The lands of Lord Perrin Goldeneyes banish ye forthwith! Tai'shar Manetheren!"

I lol'd when Elayne got that letter from the Two Rivers telling her tax collectors to pound sand.

As for Moiraine as queen, she is obviously more than capable, and after Tarmon Gaidon is done, then basically her role as a Blue is done, too, since her "cause" was to help the Dragon Reborn. Maybe she will have a political change of heart and vie for the throne.

her reasons for not wanting to be queen aren't really valid anymore.

and no one is going to be stress-free after the last battle because that's when all the rebuilding starts. i find it hard to believe moiraine wont want to ensure that goes smoothly.

some people are born to lead whether they want to or not (hello, perrin).

The only thing I'm liking about Elayne being queen of Carhien is how completely out of her depth she is going to be with all the backstabbing. I'm thinking she won't last long before a convenient "accident" allows someone else to get the thrown. As much as I would love that person to be Moiraine I'm not sure that she would be happy as queen and after everything shes gone through she shouldn't be left with a kingdom in tatters unless she actually wants it.

Maybe Galab and Berelain could rule, I'm sure she would be good at all the dirty politics :P.

I don't want Galad to rule unless he completely breaks away from the Children by that time, which doesn't seem likely. The last thing Cairhien needs is for the Whitecloaks to gain a strong, and possibly immovable foothold there. I like the idea of Berelain, except that the culture she comes from is so different from Cairhienen lifestyle that it could make things difficult for her.

I didn't mind Dobraine(sp?). Moiraine would be better.

I kind of detest the fact that Elayne took the throne.
