Let us not forgot she weaned herself on Hearts of Flame and dramatic gestures would seem appropriate to her. Which makes her the right fit for Thom, now that I think it.

But god I loved the whole Mat/Thom/Moiraine vibe.

As excited as I am for the Rand/Mo reunion, I'm going to be sad when they split up. I think Mat will go to Caemlyn like he says. Moiraine can't waste her time there. I think she has to be with Rand when Rand faces Egwene.

Finally finished the book, I'll probably reread it slower now to get a better feel of it now but I did enjoy it.

The best parts had to be the Tower of Ghenji scenes. When Noal/Jain told Mat to tell any Malkieri that Jain died clean I thought that was such an emotional scene even though he was never a character I paid any attention to. The Moiraine scenes after were great (there just wasn't enough), when she proposed my reaction was pretty much the same as Mats.

The scenes that had me laughing the most were Mat's letter to Elayne and Galad & Berelain meeting for the first time.

The best written scene was also the...worst, if that makes sense. It had to be Avi's journey in Rhuiden which really made me worry about how the series could potentially end. The shadow winning I could live with, the Seanchan, not so much ^_^

Also had a question- should things with spoilers in the first sentance be wrapped in spoiler tags so they don't appear in the "latest discussions" part of the main site?

I actually meant to put this in the Towers of Midnight thread instead of this one, but my brain doesn't work tonight :P

I'm convinced it won't happen. So many things were effed up. I refuse to believe that's how it ends up. I mean, Rhuarc's son has to hear from Rhuarc that Tuon was honorable. So that means Tuon is gone. This is only 20 years after the Last Battle. Rhuarc's son doesn't remember anything about Tuon. That means she had to die when she was in her 30s, or give up the throne (uh, lol). I refuse to believe Tuon dies at 30 :shakefist:

The biggest indicator that it does happen is that Aviendha's daughter remembers Aviendha questioning what the Aiel's purpose is. So it's sort of like Aviendha did try to change things and it didn't work...

To answer your question, I usually just make sure the first few words aren't spoilers. So instead of RAND DIED OMG I would type "So in chapter blah blah blah".

I kind of hope Elayne is the one to marry M/T. I guess Rand could do it since he is a king.

I hope we get some more scenes with M/M/T in the next book.

Me too. I want to see them meet Grady and then Travel somewhere, and all of that. I sort of doubt we will though.

I have a minor nitpick. We had that split scene where Mat says he wants to get out of sight from the Tower, then they're all sitting down and Mo starts talking. I would have liked to read about them walking there. Walking can be made interesting, especially if Mo is being carried :P

Walking is soo soo tricky to me :( A page full of dialog is over in seconds and to get somewhere you have to walk for minutes usually...and there is just no way to keep a fictional convo going for that long.

Especially since you can't have them chat about everyday stuff like, "My feet are cold. I should have worn my wollies."

"I thought they were lost in the laundry."

"Ohno, I bought a new pair from that new store down the block."

"Right. Were they pricy?"

Or the characters will seem really boring and not at all Aes Sedai cool. And if you make the plot complex enough to warrant minutes of conversation, it's bound to be so tricky everyone just skips to the steamy love scenes anyhow.

 I spent quite some time thinking about fictional dialogs while walking but that doesn't make me a geek. And anyways, it's more fun to have the characters argue at the start of the walk and then stomp away in angry silence.

Nik, you are a geek but so are we. Embrace the geek. It's like the One Power. So addictive.

I wanted there to be much more Moiraine. I think there wasn't enough, even with my being a total fangirl. Rand/Mo reunion didn't happen. I wanted to read about that, or Egwene/Mo. Still, what was there was pretty awesome, and now I'm waiting for the next book.

I loved Mat/Mo/Thom. They should have their own show post-LB. A morning chat show! :P

ETA: I'm pissed about Graendal.

Is that going to be the fate of every female forsaken except Lanfear? Rape as punishment for being evil. Yeah, I know the Dark One is The Big Bad and all but can't she just die like the male forsaken? Now I wish Rand had balefired her, though I have to admit I liked reading her escape.

Q: That's what you answered for Book 12. I'm asking about book 13, which I've already read.

A: Everyone in line close your ears...The whole Tower of Ghenjei sequence. That was all written by Jim. Also, the surprise proposal at the end.

I'd like to know if the conversation afterward was written by him too.

And on a semi-related note, is anyone else disappointed that Rand's list is probably gone? We haven't had a PoV from him yet, so maybe it's still there. But it seems doubtful. It always seemed obvious (before) that we'd get to see the list vanish as soon as he saw Moiraine. I'm going to be sad if that doesn't happen and he got over it completely on his own =oP
