That's more recent, thanks to Egwene. I hate to say it...I really do...but I think she's actually a really good Amyrlin. The age limits on who can be a novice were silly.

I liked it a lot. That scene with the little girl...even watching it a second time gives me chills.

I like Aes Sedai. Really I do. But they aren't much better than the three rugrats. In fact, newly raised Aes Sedai act just as stupid. If not for the split all three would have been tested by now and raised. I don't think they deserve it, but I don't think a number of women with the shawl deserve it.
My only issue is how it came about. I don't agree with Egwene raising them up, whether her reasons were friendship or political.

I have to say my least favorite is probably Egwene. I like her even less than I like Rand. I'm a little over half-way through with Lord of Chaos, but I have yet to find myself hating Rand. His little village sweetheart is another story.
I've never liked her "I must know everything" mindset. She looks down on others if they don't behave just so, yet gives herself excuses for her lying (about being Aes Sedai, dreamwalking without permission) and belittling her friends (Nynaeve and Elayne) in order to prevent them from blowing her cover. She even looks down on people based on the dreams they have. As if anyone has control over the way their mind wanders in sleep.
Elayne/Min are also up there in the "me-no-like" list. Elayne actually thinks the world revolves around her. Those Seanchan hounds were after Nynaeve, but Elayne is so wrapped in herself that she just assumes they were trying to get of Nynaeve to get to her. She has no problem bragging about her little "discoveries" and gets rather upset over not being in charge over everyone. In her defense, she is a noble. Elayne and Min annoy me with their Rand al'Thor crap. Maybe I have to be in love to understand the stupidity of it. Min always complaining about what Rand "did" to her. He didn't make her follow him, or change the way she dresses or does her hair. If she would just admit to being an idiot - even if only to herself - I might forgive her.

*ignores Siuan as lover comment* I think it's just Moiraine's personality or those weird Damodred genetics - just look at Galad. Something is wrong with this family. I also think Tower training might have amplified it, since most modern Aes Sedai seem to sacrifice things they really don't need to.

I don't see why she would be rescued naked. She went through with enough clothes on. Time seems to pass a lot more slowly there, so she might not even be stinky.

The why is very important, since usually we just mouth off about Rand.
As I'm rereading the series I find who I like and dislike changing (if only slightly) and my reasons for such becoming more solid. I'll have to think a bit harder to decided who is my least favorite character. -
I think if they were all tested they would pass, but I still think they need to be tested anyway. Although, I also think the test for Aes Sedai needs rethinking, as does pretty much everything the White Tower has been doing for the last 3000 years.

She wasn't ill. She wasn't sick at all. It was a massive blood clot, probably caused by her knee surgery.

If there is anyone who knows NS it's Laura. Ellid was the most beautiful girl in the Tower (and she knew it), and obviously when she died whoever was in second place was bumped up to first.

Both Lauras refuse to lose. Moiraine/Elayne are naturally more beautiful than the average girl. Moiraine was considered that way during training in the Tower: no hairdressers there either. I think how pretty Egwene is depends on if you want her for a wife. She doesn't surpass Mo&Lay (oh how I love nicknames), but she isn't far behind, and maybe even on the same level.
It's so Oprah of me, but personality makes people more beautiful (or less so) to me so it's hard for me to judge someone based soley on looks: Since after I get to know them I see their looks differently. I always thought Myrelle was pretty, and Leane sexy. Tuon has to be damn hot to get Mat committed.
So. I'll say Galad is the most beautiful of them all! *nods*

If Elayne can have kids, anybody can. Her aunt included.

During my reread I noticed Egwene describe Leane's face as brownish stone. Brown! That comic drawing through me through a loop, but now I feel better.
I also wonder if Amico is asian in features, although I'll admit that has more to do with her name. I kinda like that evil lil' Sedai.

I'm not sure what she would set as law, but I would hope she would follow Rand's lead with the school idea and run with it in a slightly different direction. Establishing centers of learning for children (and adults who need it) because a country is only as strong as its weakest citizen.
