  1. She wasn't that cold hearted about it. I always read the scene as her trying to act how she thought an Aes Sedai should, that was better than showing weakness.

The Game of Houses is a dangerous game, however later books have characters, including Moiraine, mentioning how much worse it has become in recent times. Murder wasn't as common beforehand in the short time Moiraine would have had to play the Game before going to the Tower.

  2. This is for Kate. May she be satisfied!

    =================

Mat's footsteps could no longer be heard by Thom, and so he took the opportunity to bestow a kiss upon Moiraine's lips. She gasped in surprise but then quickly returned the affections. He kept trying to do more than just peek beneath her cloak-his cloak-but she kept muttering about Mat.

"He has already seen you, my dearest Moiraine."

"Be that as it may I do not wish for him to see me more than twice."

    "Twice?"

"Besides, you have already seen me in my skin as well, dearest Thom, and have plenty more nights to see again."

Disappointed Thom blew out his mustaches and settled for kissing her so throughly she was left breathless. He attempted to open the cloak once more, but was thwarted.

"Thom," she gave him a smile that reminded him rather uncomfortably of Elayne. "Perhaps you would like to become my Warder now?"

She asked but didn't bother to wait for an answer and soon enough he had a bundle of emotions and sensations nestled in the back of his head. It would seem Moiraine was as eager to do away with that blasted cloak as he was but, well, Cairhienin.

"Do you find something amusing, Master Merrilin?"

"Never, Mistress Merrilin. You know that cloak suits you; maybe we should teach you the harp."

"I would rather learn to juggle."

"Juggling is too common for you."

"Are you saying I am not good enough to handle your balls?"

"Of course not. Your hands are perfectly suited for the job. And any other job you might be thinking of."

    Moiraine blushed deeply.

Thom kissed the palms of her hands. "Whatever you wish I will grant. You want to juggle, I'll make you the finest there is. Ask for the moon and I will put it on a necklace for you."

"STOP PLEASE!" Mat had somehow returned to camp without Thom noticing. "And here I thought the worst thing I could walk in on was baby making."

  3. Elaida secretly yearned for Moiraine. This is true.

The primary reason I was all :o the first time I read about Siuan and Moiraine being pillow friends was because of how they acted towards each other in the series proper. They have such a strange relationship.

  4. 2 min, 148 words. Oh yeah.

The sounds of wolves howls filled the air, reverberating against Mat's skull. He couldn't see so much as the man to either side of him through all the smoke and dust. He gripped his spear as hard as his sweaty palms would allow him, striking out at any hairy muzzle that stepped in his path. He couldn't be sure but he assumed he was shouting and in the Old Tongue at that. It didn't matter; nothing could be heard over the howls and the screams. From the corner of his eye he caught sight of Rand blazing like the sun was gripped in his fist. The debris cleared enough for him to make out two figures, probably female, following in his wake. Mat had no time to call out or wonder what his friend was up to, he was too busy trying to survive.
