I've been wondering lately how Thom is going to fight (if he'll fight) considering his weapon of choice--knives--isn't as useful against Trollacs as a sword, but even moreso he favors throwing them and, well, he'd have to carry a lot of knives.

That's on purpose though. I'm sure Nynaeve and Lan have both figured it out by now. Myrelle was obsessed with Nynaeve when she arrived at Salidar.
You have more faith in their cognitive abilities than I do. I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait to read a Nyn PoV that states as much to believe it.

How long has it been since Lan/Nyn were together? It takes a week for sperm to reach the egg and then however many days to reach the womb, and a couple months for it to effect channeling (and some women still menstruate during pregnancy) so...maybe she's already knocked up?
It's not that I want Lan to die it just seems he is being set up for some dramatic death scene.

I was thinking about this the other day, what percentage of chance I'd give various characters to survive Tarmon Gai'don.
I've only thought of few so far (there are a lot of characters ok?! *defensive*)
Moiraine/Nynaeve: 99.8%
Lan: 50%
Thom: 90%
Rand: 85%
Mat: 100%
Perrin: 99.999%
Egwene: 99.9%
