  1. I finished the book um, I don't know some odd days ago. Anyway, I loved this part when Juilin is saying how back in Tear people don't like Aes Sedai because they have never gotten to know one and Thom calls him his "fine Aes Sedai loving Tarien friend" and I laughed because soon Thom will be "loving" an Aes Sedai.

  2.

I felt the way Nynaeve backed up Cadsuane's idea of torture to be a wee bit out of character. This is the girl who was rather light handed when she had a Forsaken on a leash, for crying out loud, not to mention became disquieted when she fully realized her husband and Rand were going to go kill some Darkfriends. Maybe it was the timing of the sentence or something that made me feel that way, I don't know.

That whole wind sequence was a bit too long for me and just strange to read because it was very much all Sanderson, although once we got to Rand it felt more WoTish except for a few awkward descriptions.

I am very happy to read Cad go "Phaw!" I might even buckle down and actually get the prologue early this time around.

  3. I know I said no folk, but I actually like the Kelly Family.

I'm iffy on musicals. Although I did love Chicago and hope to see it again someday! Although thanks to the movie it'd probably be harder to get tickets, although now that I think of it, Chicago-mania has passed now. Except, Arizona gets so little in culture it'd still be hopped all over. I've listened to a few samples of Wicked and honestly didn't care for it.

Also, surprisingly, I like worship music. Not just gospel or hymns song by Catholic boy choirs, but I even have some Christian pop rock on my iPod. I have never admitted this on the internet before.

  4. It occurred to me since no one calls me by my username, why not change it! That, and sometimes it just felt weird seeing my username on a place called Moiraine's World (god it hurts to type out the site's name).

  5. Awkward sentence, yes, perhaps, but the point remains! I have $4 of credit on iTunes and $5 of credit at Amazon's MP3 store. I am pretty tired of what is on my iPod so....recommend music?

    (No folk music, Kaitlin!)

  6. Yes I think RJ put hints in for the lads, but not that they actually are doing it. Seriously, I think Elayne can be all kinds of stupid and annoying but I could see her sleeping with Moiraine before Avi. I'm pretty sure Laura wrote a fic about that once.

Also, I guess this is the point in the story where all these minor characters start to get a little mind numbing. I have a hard time remembering all these bit players. The Aes Sedai are blurring together, the Seanchan are just names without faces, etc.

  7. A little late in starting this, I suppose...

I'm actually a pinch over halfway through with the book. At this point I just want to finish the reread and wonder how I'll survive not skipping large portions of book ten. Anyway....

Cad is still making me laugh. :D Strangely I still kind of like Elayne, although it is probably safe to say Avi annoys me at the best of times, although that might just be her super-Aielness that rubs me the wrong way. Min can die in a fire. Also strange, I don't hate Rand yet.

Sex-crazed Nynaeve can get under my skin at times.

    Spoiler for book 11

Every since I read Moiraine's letter I cannot stand Thom's man-whoring. I just want to box his ears!

I just want to hurry up and get to the good parts of the book.

  8. "I saw the pair of you sniffing about like ferrets at the hencoop," [Yukiri] said, "but I held my tongue--you might be pillow friends, for all I know, and whose business is that but yours?"

(Oath Rod is found hiding in Seaine's possession)

"Oh, leave it with them Saerin," Yukiri laughed right on top of her. "Whatever they're up to, it's their own business."

Now. I cannot be the only one who had impure thoughts of what Yukiri was implying. Don't try and deny, Olivia!

Also, I always hated how close Saerin and Seaine were in spelling.

  9. You are misunderstanding it. It means basically you can't have your cake AND eat it. If you eat it, you no longer have it. If you have it, clearly you haven't eaten it. The original saying made that more clear, well, more clear if you speak old English.

wolde you bothe eate your cake, and have your cake?

Oh wait, did Olivia already state that? Oh well whatever! But I still think it makes perfect sense. Yes of course I want to eat my cake, but I can't then complain that I longer have any cake later. That's kind of the whole point.
