  1. Maybe she could. The Forsaken were in a "dreamless sleep" while they were under, but maybe the Finns' magic works differently. I hope she was able to have some pleasant, comforting dreams, so that it wasn't just repeated wakeups just to be drained and poked at by the Finns, poor lady. Also, they probably wanted her to have emotion-full dreams so they could feed more.

I like to imagine maybe she even made it into Tel'aran'rhiod by accident a few times like some sleepers do and glimpsed the other characters moving the plot along while she waited for her grand return.

  2. Just spent about half an hour arguing anonymously on tumblr about fictional character's lives.

    New low, guys, new low.

*consoles* It could have been worse. Just remember the ancient adage: "The only thing stupider than an argument on the internet is the same argument in real life."

  3. Hard to tell, since all we know is that Moiraine took after the Damodred side and Galad seems to take after the Damodred side too. So either Taringail also looked like those two or else the Damodred-ness skipped Taringail. Taringail's other two kids take after their mom, which is kind of a relief as I'd be mildly disturbed if Rand was with a woman who had the same face as Moiraine. We don't even get any direct in-story references to "Moiraine as Elayne's aunt" though, so we're unlikely to get a "family resemblance" remark in the narration. Hell, Taringail doesn't even get screen time except that one scene where Gawyn has a flashback, so sadly this issue is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon.

I kinda hope he did look like his father. I like the idea of the Damodreds as this big clan of pale, dark-haired beauties. I remain firm that Anvaere and Innloine must also be total hotties like their baby sister. :smit:

Darrell K. Sweet, cover artist for all the WoT books and many other Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, has passed. The TOR link gives a nice article about him and displays some of his best fantasy pieces, which are really great.

I like to tease that Sweet's WoT covers were pretty terrible, and aspects of them totally were, but I also have to geekily admit they were what first grabbed my attention when browsing at the bookstore. The colors, the actions, the costumes and weaponry, the scenery and architecture... The art did what covers are supposed to do: give a pictorial flavor for a written work. Good and bad, accurate and inaccurate, they got me interested in WoT, and for that I have to thank him.

Unfortunately Sweet didn't get to finish the AMoL cover. I'll be interested to see who they pick to create the face of the last book of this epic series, and how it turns out.

  5. So, are there any Triquetras in WoT?

Um, the closest I can think of is that ter'angreal that looks like the Mercedes logo. But it wouldn't surprise me if there was a Dream ter'angreal with a more triquetra design somewhere, phrases like "interconnecting lines and swirls" seem normal for ter'angreal like that. RJ uses plenty of Nordo-Celtic mythology so there's probably one somewhere in WoT.

  6. there was a theory on wotmania that Moiraine was a draghkar that made me laugh.

This from the woman who started the "Moiraine as a Vampire" thread? Draghkar and Vampires are pretty much the same thing.

I once saw a crazy theory that Cadsuane is the Doctor and her paralis net contains a Tardis ter'angreal.

  7. I applaud the return of Marie's Elaida-Moiraine Christmas avatar. Although, I do snicker that you begin the countdown to Christmas so early, only the day after Halloween. (Yes, I know the shops practically begin the countdown to Christmas the day after the summer solstice, but that's no excuse.)

  8. Wow, it's hard to narrow down a favorite crackship, as WoT's thousands of characters allow for infinite shipping of varying degrees of crack. I'm also probably not the best person to talk about this, as I consider Nyn/Elayne, Elaida/Mo/Siuan, or even Nyn/Moghedien to be perfectly plausible ships and not crack at all. :D

Hm, I'll go with Siuan/Egwene as a favorite. :fruit:

  9. I shudder when I think that I might not be here forever

I cheer when I think that Thom might not be there forever! (Just kidding, had to say it. ) Good song, I like the use of violin and cello.

  10. Yeah, Deadsy, the forum has lots of great WoT avatars to pick from. Just think, you could be looking at a picture of Moiraine's cleavage instead of that blank white head! (I refuse to accept that any MW member could not want to look at a picture of Moiraine in her shift, regardless of their gender or orientation.)
