They finally finished the NS comic some time ago, with 8 issues in total. You can get the last few issues on eBay pretty easily, or you can buy the all-in-one edition off Amazon, B&N, etc.

Did the Wise Ones know Moiraine was a Damodred?
Maybe I'm blanking on something really really obvious here, but I can't remember them ever addressing her as a Damodred and not just an Aes Sedai. Rand in TFoH even has a line like "Moiraine being Aes Sedai offset her being Cairhienin, but he was never sure how much" in regards to how the Aiel treat Moiriane. You'd think he would have said "a Damodred". I know Aiel usually call people by their full names, but... Maybe I am misremembering.I'm tired, dammit. And my memory of Moiraine's time with the Wise Ones is clouded by her nude scenes with them.

As for how much the Wise Ones knew, I dunno. Their "reading" of the dream seems more vague and multi-pathed than Egwene's Dreaming, so I think most likely they saw a possibility that Laman would cut down the tree but not a guarantee. I always figured they found out the news from one of the Cairhien trade caravans that passed through the Waste at that time, rather than finding out through magical means. It was only 1/3rd of the Aiel involved in the Aiel War anyways.

I only saw the show once, but wasn't there a hottie called Viletta in Code Geass? (Then again, pretty much everyone in anime is a hottie.)

Too many i's and l's too close together hurts my brain.
I like Vinell or Vineleth. -
Hark, a doublepost! I have a question:
In TGH the Draghkar that attacks Moiraine while she is with Adeleas and Vandene was warded so that a channeler's/Warder's ability to sense Shadowspawn would not detect it.
Do we ever see this warding used again by the Shadow? I can't recall off the top of my head and wondered if anyone else had thoughts on it. It seems like it would've been useful for all those failed Gray Man assassination attempts, and those Trolloc attacks (though that's assuming the ward can be used on large numbers of Shadowspawn simultaneously).

What if Loial's biography of the LB and Rand + his supporters is really a tell all trash novel about all the shifty and sexy things the characters have all done?
I kind of assumed that WoT was the sleazy trash novel telling all the naughty hijinks that happen in WoT. What with all the spanking, nude rites of passage, spanking, reincarnating lecherous men into hawt female bodies, spanking, harem-jealousy, spanking, princess's daddy complexes, peeping in someone's dreams and ending up losing your virginity, putting women on silver leashes, spanking, and psychic Warder voyeurism.

I am contemplating getting a bicycle for some (relatively flat) trail riding.
My ladyparts are worried about soreness though. Do those cushioned seats they sell actually help with that or is it just a marketing scam?

I'm always surprised when Moiraine shows her elbows. For some reason I always think her too prude for that.
You're probably right, she was prudish about them in the beginning. But I think years of getting sent to the kitchens to scrub pots or do laundry or weed the gardens and other such messy labor given to pranksters like Moiraine would get her used to having to roll up her sleeves.
-
I bet they're cute elbows, though.

Okay so last night I had a nightmare that Ishamael and the Black Ajah came for me. The BAs were all on black horses and had black hoods obscuring their faces and all sat their horses in this scary silent ring around me while Ishamael tortured me with the Power (don't know what he wanted from me).

It was really scary and painful in the dream, but when I woke up I realized that Ishamael didn't look like his usual fiery-faced self from the first couple books ... he looked like Marv from Home Alone! I have no freaking idea why, but it made a frightening nightmare into something inexplicably hilarious once I woke up. What is wrong with my brain?

Just tell him "I rounded down to the nearest integer."

Good luck, Ashsnow and Deadsy!

Ooh, yay, thank you!
And you used that lovely picture of them that was exclusive to the all-in-one edition. I like! -
Um, how about every scene?

I'd really like to see some of the Nynaeve vs. Moghedien scenes, especially the one where she puts the a'dam on her or when Birgitte gets ripped away. Any of the heroes vs. Forsaken battles would probably look awesome, actually. Moiraine/Lanfear, Rand/Ishamael, etc.
-
Except she has used her House one (with Thom no less)
IIRC, that was an error that was corrected in later editions. When Thom gets the letter in LoC, it is sealed with her Great Serpent ring.
-
Very good question! Maybe it's some variant on the Damodred tree-and-crown. In any case, I don't think her personal sigil is something she'd use often. Even a personal sigil of royalty doesn't carry the same prestige as just sealing it with her Aes Sedai ring. Besides, she probably doesn't want to 1) remind people of her heritage 2) seem like a partisan Cairhienin/Damodred instead of an aloof AS.

I'm starting to think I only like Mike Miller's Moiraine 100%.
Ooh, yes he did do a great job for her, didn't he?
Everyone in the first 3 or so issues of the comics looks gorgeous, even random characters like Tarna or Kerene. (Not really what I'd pictured for most of the characters, but still very prettily drawn.) It's like the Tower recruits from shampoo commercials. Then again, looking at the books proper, I guess most of the women are described as at least "pretty". And women in comic books in general are almost always above averagely good-looking. -
Thread necro!

So the NS ebook cover came out. See it here on TOR.
I rather like it.
Her hands are kind of in a weird position, and for some reason Lan has touches of gray in his hair already (though he's not described as having gray in NS, only in the series proper IIRC). But other than that I like the pose, the dead, wintry atmosphere, and Moiraine's outfit. Like most of the ebook covers, the art is well-done, finely detailed, and for the most part pays much more attention to how the characters/clothing are supposed to look than the original covers. -

Wow, you all have met some really cool and interesting people!
I've never met any actors/musicians/politicians.The only famous person I've met was RJ. He was at ComicCon in San Diego in '05. It was right before the NS comics started coming out, I remember because I bought a NS poster and he signed it for me (it's framed on my wall). He also signed two of my hardbacks (two was the limit the ppl set, so that fans didn't bring like 80 books for him to sign per person lol), which I will never ever part with. My sis also took a photo of me getting my books signed my him, also on my wall. (Light, I'm such a fangirl)

He gave a little talk beforehand and had a Q & A session. I really liked listening to him, I found him earthy and witty. He was willing to hop from question to question about everything from how he designed the WoT map to what the first scene he wrote was to his personal life to whether he intended some of his characters to be as hilarious or as irritating as some readers found them.
He said a few quick words to people when they came up for signings also, and I remember asking him about my theory (and that of many other fans) that Graendal killed Asmodean.
He smiled and gave me a vague non-answer, as expected, but for some reason that only made me believe it more. You could tell he was kinda amused and exasperated that the fandom chose this rather trivial detail to fixate on, but he was fun about it. I was really happy I got to meet him. -
You're right, Vertex.
It's kinda funny to match the shirt colors with some of the the Ajahs:Red - Because I have amazing boobs
Green - Because I'm beautiful
Gray - Because that's how I roll
Brown - Because I'm gay
... Black - Because I'm sexy
