moiraine dreaming

Recommended Posts

Maybe she could. The Forsaken were in a "dreamless sleep" while they were under, but maybe the Finns' magic works differently. I hope she was able to have some pleasant, comforting dreams, so that it wasn't just repeated wakeups just to be drained and poked at by the Finns, poor lady. Also, they probably wanted her to have emotion-full dreams so they could feed more.

I like to imagine maybe she even made it into Tel'aran'rhiod by accident a few times like some sleepers do and glimpsed the other characters moving the plot along while she waited for her grand return.

Now that she is back in the world of the living, I wonder if Eggy will spot her (probably shielded) dreams in that weird star-landscape...thing.

aww :(

(I just wanted to comment)

Also, why is my title so boring? I don't need a special one, but I went from like, hero or something similar, to member.

You're still a Hero. Right above kitty.

I was just "member" when I posted it. Not sure why it changed.

I suppose it depends if she goes to that place (I also forget what it is called) or not. I wonder if Moiraine will remember to shield her dreams before passing out.

I think they kept her in hybernation. Egwene was able to find her dreams when she was okay, if not to enter them and she couldn't when she was kept prisoner. Plus, channelers in general are not afraid of death, but of losing the Power, so this would be her strongest emotion. She was probably also afraid that she'd lose it altogether (she was close). So they had to keep her awake or at least realizing.

I have my doubts that she was able to dream just because of who she was stuck in Finnland with. Lanfear was dangerous even when she was asleep.

Lanfear also tried to have naked pool sex with Rand while he was asleep. Being stuck in there with Moiraine... I sense a slashfic idea?

I would assume (and we all know what they say about assuming) that the Finns' world might alter how Dreaming works, this nullifying Lanfear's ability.

From Egwene in Lord of Chaos we know that

"Those flickering lights were dreams, all the dreams of all the people of the world. Of all worlds, places that were not quite the world she knew..."

And:

"Still, once she identified which dream belonged to which person, she could find that person's dreams again like an arrow to the target..." (funny how Gawyn's arrow reached the target moments later. Anyway, off topic)

So, I think either Moiraine and Lanfear could not sleep, or they were blocked from dreaming. It could also be part of the price they payed for their wishes. Or just a natural law of the 'Finn world.

Another option is only Lanfear was blocked from dreaming, but Moiraine's dream looked too differently while in the 'Finn world, enough that Egwene could not recognize it. But I think that's too improbable.

About Rand, maybe there was just an unwritten rule (though it way have been in the Prophecies) that people should lose their virginity in another realms, or at least on another continent. Plus, we'll probably never know all about the price Moirane payed.

A dreamless sleep is what I am leaning towards. Assuming they were fully asleep in the first place and not in some in-between stage.

Ugh, I hope we do find out! It would be so wrong to leave us hanging.
